People who have owned and driven the MK3 RS will find the MK2 and MK1 feel crude by comparison, if a laggier and less precise and crude driving experience feels 'special' to you, then that's a matter of subjectivity.

But then again you were the one who said 15k for a well preserved 300ZX UK Twin Turbo Manual was overpriced as you can pick up an ex'd PCP'd 2 tonne automatic Mercedes for less money tells me you don't know what the crack you are talking about...
Jeez mate, let it go!! You seem to pounce on every person who has an alternate opinion to you. I'd have MK1 RS Focus over a MKIII, 'crude' or otherwise as that's my preference. And yes I will take my 500bhp V8 with 17k on the clock, which I own outright over a 20 year old+ Japanese car regardless of how 'special' it may be to some people.

Not surprised this thread has degenerated in to a bunch of blokes arguing.

I've noticed on here that anyone who posts about issues with the RS (I own one, I know about them first hand from painful experience) immediately gets branded a troll and people asking that they get banned.

Grown men acting like kids at uni demanding their 'safe spaces' and 'right not to have to confront reality'. Yes let's make this a safe space shall we where a car that has had a worldwide recall (then the recall recalled lol due to 'lack of parts') apparently has no issues and Ford are great for concentrating on ever more outrageous antics like this premium model rather than sorting out the saps like me who already bought one.

You're right, Ford are great and if your RS hasn't gone wrong yet that means all RS's are fine and anyone who says otherwise should be banned, you're absolutely right.
No, just the people who pretend they own an RS and have a personal vendetta against it should be banned.

But the heritage ones are already sold, and these two evolution versions will be available afterwards...you condescending prick.
Last 50 made are the swansong, these could just as easily get crushed, are already manufactured and being changed by Ford to suit their needs - will also be registered and second hand when "auctioned" rather than being a model you can go walk in to a dealer like all the others.

Again read it slowly if you need to the info is out there...

You don't own an RS, though. You're a cancerous c*nt who repeatedly comes back to the forum to post bullsh*t.

I really like the Focus RS, I imagine one day in the future I'll buy one used, but I just don't get why people fanboy over them? The st people say to each other over them is ludicrous, these are supposed to be adults, yet they argue like year 9's. Like the Golf GTI vs Escort XR3 debates people obviously choose sides, people obviously debate them, but this is just laughable that people call each other s over opinions they do/don't hold. Yes certain people on here deserve to be called s, E.G TwinExit. You just have to ask if you really care this much about what somebody thinks of your car, maybe you shouldn't have bought a Ford?

Exactly, we've got more choice in what hot hatch we want than was even possible in the 80's hot hatch boom.

Its the same as everything though - there will be those who defend their opinions to the end of time and those who just like to argue against them. Even worse as cars are such a personal thing (to those who consider themselves petrolheads especially) look at the storm caused by the Mclaren Senna - the hate AND love.
I personally like the RS and have liked most of the 'fast fords' - but I am completely aware there are as many who do not like fords at all. Whether you have driven them or not, like them or not we are all here with one passion in common - our love of cars and the joy they bring.

No need for all these arguments about who is picking the right/wrong car - for that person it is the right choice whether the rest of us agree or not isnt going to matter, they will still be driving around in it.

Bit of a generalization. You got any proof that back that up or is it just total speculation? You may be correct or you could be totally wrong.
