Have you seen a clean one on the road recently? They're a good looking motor.
The AMG E55 version is one of the best looking modern Mercedes IMO.

The E65 7 series was an absolute abomination of car design. Ugly lines, bad proportions, no grace or beauty to it at all.
I love the E65. It's brutal but very well sculpted and it came with many design cues that indicated it was a 7 series, so even from an angle where it's size and scale was difficult to distinguish, the fact it was a 7 was not. Much better than the following models, which looked more like outsize 5 series models.

The W210 AMG might look ok, but the regular version looks like a rounded brick, something you would expect outside a takeaway. The W211 design is more coherent in my eyes.

Those two Mondeos look exactly the same.
Do people really still think this really? Mondeos now made from alloy?

I agree that the facelifted orginal XF is much better looking than the new XF- so bland, especially that interior!

Any car where the designers didn’t ask the engineers how deep the the rear hatch hinges had to be.
So you end up with two bumps on the end of the roof to accommodate the hinges.

Vw scirocco and Mazda 2 are examples.
Afterthought school of design.

I’m also going to nominate that new Volvo for having sod all rear vision, which coming from a car maker who has built a brand on being safety pioneers is a bit poor.

I quite like it, I think the bangle era where better looking than the current one, especially the LCI high spec cars. I see a black one quite often and think
It’s a cool looking car, not beautiful, but it has something about it

The Audi Q2 is one of the most repulsive designs on sale. Horrible.

Saw one of these the other day, incredibly ugly. It also had extra Audi rings on the D pillar? Seems a strange option to me to spec extra manufacturer logos as it's usually the usual model logos plastered everywhere (//M badges/S-line/AMG/etc.).

Surprised no one has posted these yet.

The whole jag range now is just styled with a ruler, all slab nosed and silly headlights, really not keen after the first XF was so handsome.

That silver one does look quite nice though. But i suppose the same is true of most optioned up cars
Ian Callum needs sending out to pasture. The current Jag range is a huge disappointment styling wise. He's dredged up styling 'cues' from old jags and made a stodgy old dogs dinner of the lot.
yes

In 1998 Jaguar Styling Director Geoff Lawson said:
One of the key elements of the design (of the S-Type) is the fact that the face is completely different from the face of the XJ and the XK and strategically that's a very important difference between this car and our major competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz who will tend to have a similar face and small, medium, and large versions of it.
Not so much now eh, Jaguar?

Can believe this hasn't been mentioned in 9 pages:

You havent really been fair on that e60 by picking base spec. Can make it look the much nicer car next to base spec versions of the other 5 series's.

I prefer the E60's design in SE trim. boxedin 18" wheels help though! thumbup 4.4 V8 for me please - petrol or diesel.

It doesn't help that the one in the photo is on small wheels, drawing your eye to and along them to the rear wheel and slab-sided wing above it. Looks slightly sleepy too.

Luckily (to my eyes at least) every 911 since the 996 has got better looking smile
I accept that the 3.4 996 wasn't well received but from what I recall, a lot of the disparaging comments related to its similarity to the Boxster - they were practically identical from the front. To my mind, the facelifted 3.6 with the lights like the Turbo you've posted above was a reaction to this and an ill-judged attempt to distinguish the 911 from the Boxster.

I've never liked the 3.6 911 but I think the 3.4 has aged well and looks great.

Very clean, simple design. Wish I hadn't sold mine now!

Got to say that I agree, this is a very ugly looking car to me.

That is truly awful, Hyundai seem to be making a habit of it, slightly off topic as this isn't a facelift or replacement, but I was behind a Hyundai Kona the other day, really ugly, the size looked wrong as well, not a fan.

Seen a few Audi Q2s lately and they're hideous, can't believe anyone would buy one. You could kind of get it if it was a Dacia or a Kia or something but paying Audi prices for something that looks like that is insane.

On the plus side a neighbour who I don't like too much after their dog attacked me and they refused to apologise for me having to take a day off work to go to a&e and lost £150 of business because of it, has just bought one so I feel happy that he now broadcasts to everyone what a tw@ he is by driving one of them.
