(Had a search beforehand but didn't see anything relating to this so far...)

So much wrong i don't know where to start, what must have been going through the drivers head... Of all the roads to give it the beans on....

The person he hit is completely unharmed thankfully.

Been there and bought the t-shirt. 17 year old in a saxo came over the brow of a hill as I was halfway past a row of parked cars. I stopped but couldn't reverse (car behind) and he slid all the way down the hill into me. Best bit? His insurers dragged it out for months because I was on the wrong side of the road.

Wowzers that was some hit, was reassuring to hear driver say “christ” rather than screams of pain. My language would have been a bt more fruity.

Absolutely.

id like to think that if i were in the drivers shoes at that moment in time id've steered into the lamppost/aim for the gap between it and the wall. I'd sooner take my chances with that than involve someone else in what would definitely have felt like a possible fatal.

He meant he wondered if the car was nicked, no mention of that from what i read he was simply charged with dangerous driving and failure to stop at road traffic collision so presumably was his own. Certainly driving it like he stole it though.

14 months is a joke of a prison term.. collision was at 80 mph.. what speed must they have been going at when they lost it on the blind bend and clipped the kerb?!.. this could have been far far worse... what was the car he hit? a focus/fiesta?

Never said whether the bloke was drunk or not so can't have been. Must have had a very funny turn to floor it through there ?

TBF cars are designed to take the load from the from. Just shows how good the safety systems are these days that no-one was injured, including the Bentley driver who ran off.

Clearly stolen, the reason why the driver was found using blood (obviously known to the authorities). Not sure why he would be speeding through there though, perhaps not knowing the area.

The car looked out of shape when it hit the kerb, with 4x4, he must not have been looking out of the window.

Drink or drugs hence leaving the scene, this scum bag deserves much tougher sentence, reckless and total disregard for other road users.

Somewhat amazed that the old boy driving the Kuga was able to walk away from that, it’s a serious high speed collision. Bentley driver must’ve been pissed, high, or both, hence the runner.

Why not trace his plates? And why was there blood if the airbag popped (perhaps he was wearing glasses though)?

Either way a right mess, 14mths inside and for what?

Defo something fishy gone on.

Doing almost 100mph at 7am in the morning in a quaint little villagey bit and spinning out on a mild bend and then running away... extremely odd behaviour.

That's what first struck me, a crash at 80mph anywhere is shocking but the setting of this one is just surreal and asks so many questions as to what was going through the drivers mind at the time, given that he fled the scene and it doesn't say when he was caught i guess intoxication is still a possibility and he had enough time for it to get out of his system. Would be an interesting case to be a juror on.

Could be so many things, if it was him just having a hoon then its a miracle he made it to age 46.

Presumably to prove he was the driver at the time.

The police still have to show who was driving, in case the owner denies driving, to get a prosecution
