It’s not just here but something that has appeared everywhere over the last decade. There are people who regardless of what you ask or how you ask will just try and answer something else. And once they’ve started you can rarely stop it as it doesn’t matter how many times you re state the question or restructure it all they now see is the point they have created out of thin air. Work wise we just cut them out of the deal when they crop up but it’s a strange modern phenomena.

Anyway, back to your problem, have you thought about buying a cat? biggrin
Ha ha, very good - totally agree

For sure, but rings of selfishness to me. Even more so than the bins

Why has none considered that this house might be awaiting the council to paint the Disabled bay in the space outside of that house?

The assumption is the house owner is being a cock socket because they don’t like people parking in front of their house - until you have the evidence then who knows

Oh lol about logistics - I was trying to get around any divorce or separation issues where one has to pick up one has to collect by court order.
You're always listing far out reasons for why they can put the bins out. They are all negated by the fact they have a two car drive - surely the disabled/VIP person/whatever should use one of those spaces. You're being particularly difficult with every thing you say and trying to solve problems that I don't actually have or have already thought of myself. Hey that's par for the course on here though

But you e just said you had to move the bin on Monday as it was the only space left - as such if a disabled person came home and took the place on the drive (say they had 3 Cars) suddenly car number 3 has nowhere to park - unless they park over the dropdown bumper to bumper with your car.

Is the snow causing fewer to be out this week?

OP - change job, get a new job at a place with a car park. Or near to home. Or work from home.

As an aside I live in a place fronting a very narrow road. Most people have long driveways. You wouldn't believe the number of visitors to the other houses in the cul de sac that park either opposite or nearly opposite our drive rather than on the drive of the house they are visiting.
Quite happy to restrict our driveway. Have fallen out with most of the neighbours over it.
I work in the city, believe you me nothing would give me greater pleasure than finding a local job. Sadly there is nothing paying what I'm on(even minus commuting costs, hassle, etc) up this way

Millions of people commute for work. Many if not most are forced into commuting by high property prices in City centres, particularly London. They’re just trying to earn a living.

Add the 20+ minutes to drive there and park then explain how that's better for me? Also I can walk home currently, which I need to do sometimes. Again though, thanks to someone re-arranging my life for me in a way I'd never considered before...

By not taking local jobs from local people or buying local homes from local people?

Outside of your town of Royston Vasey economics works in a normal manner so you can relax and not worry yourself about all of this.

I'm not breaking a traffic law - they are. I'm just wanting to legally park my car, which I can't because of their illegal act

Indeed you're not doing anything illegal, just showing a lack of consideration for those affected by your actions.

So, park elsewhere, stop being tight/awkward!

What happens when they leave their cars outside. Will you campaign for them to move them onto their driveway so as not to inconvenience you?

They already do. OP complained they take up 2 spaces when they do so. However, the residents aren't breaking any traffic law in doing so; just wanting to legally park their car.

Nothing constructive to add except that I'm with the OP on this one.

No one owns the road outside their house. You want to legally park near it, then you buy a property with a drive or garage or get a parking permit space.

If OP's cars car is roadworthy and taxed then he has every right to park there for as long as he wants.
