I need to try out a lot more cars but for me it has been my shed E39 BMW 530i comfort spec auto.
I will second this, especially with comfort seats. Edited by cib24 on Friday 23 February 10:41
+3, I find my e39 very comfy, even with the sport seats and suspension. My old mk3 Granada (with 205/60/15 tyres) was just as comfy, as said, they have a huge back seat.

In a previous job my employer would pay for us to have chauffeur type transport to and from Heathrow on business trips.
Comfiest I remember (and the interior fittings were fantastic) was an X350 XJ8. Next up was an S Class, 7 Series and A8 - all pretty good. But the Range Rover was the one that got the most neighbour's curtain twitching!
Comfiest car I've owned was a W123 Mercedes 280E.
