Most comfy was definitely an Audi S8 V10. Christ it was so good.

A close second but with less comfy seats is my L322 RR Vogue SE. The seats also take longer to heat up and have less adjustment.

I need to try out a lot more cars but for me it has been my shed E39 BMW 530i comfort spec auto.

I will second this, especially with comfort seats.

+3, I find my e39 very comfy, even with the sport seats and suspension. My old mk3 Granada (with 205/60/15 tyres) was just as comfy, as said, they have a huge back seat. wink

wife's saab 95 is very comfortable.

Edit to add: My Old D2 S8 was probably the most comfortable to drive over long distances - seats, suspension, engine, pedal arrangement all made it lovely to be in (off to the classifieds to get in trouble....)

For me S60/V70/XC70 which are all pretty much the same car, superb seats, and W211 E class just seemed to float along.

Agree with the Volvo S60 seats being comfy. Used to enjoy long motorway journeys - they didn't seem that long.

It's one of the reasons I quite fancy another.

A D reg Volvo 240 estate I bought as a dump run car whilst doing the house up.

Steered like the QE2 but very very smooth.

The only thing I will mark the E39 down on is no foot rest for the right foot when on cruise control

I once traveled through the chaos of New Delhi in a Rolls Royce Phantom - my most comfortable motoring experience.

I very rarely use the cruise control for this very reason!

Comfiest so far is my current Peugeot 607. It’s literally an armchair and very gentle over bumps. Had a 2016 Volvo V40 cross country that had very comfy seats and interior but a harder ride.

In a previous job my employer would pay for us to have chauffeur type transport to and from Heathrow on business trips.

Comfiest I remember (and the interior fittings were fantastic) was an X350 XJ8. Next up was an S Class, 7 Series and A8 - all pretty good. But the Range Rover was the one that got the most neighbour's curtain twitching! laugh

Comfiest car I've owned was a W123 Mercedes 280E.

I had a Saab 9-3. In terms of build quality is the 9-5 miles better?

The trouble with referring to cars a decade or more ago, is that posters were younger then, so their backs could tolerate more.
