How will the GT3 & GT2 plus their RS derivatives work? As they’ll all be turbocharged, light weight & limited availability - won’t the GT2 be more a GT3 Plus?

And so the cycle begins again even before the last one stopped.

Waiting for the GTS, GT3, GT3 RS, GT2, Turbo S, GT3 Touring, R versions in limited number to awaiting flippers whilst the rest of us just gets bored with yet another 911 that looks just the same as the last one.

Objectively this will be the best 911 ever: most powerful, most comfortable, most toys, fastest, quietest, etc.

Will it be the most enjoyable to drive? At least for me, not a chance. Driving enjoyment is subjective, not objective.

If you take away the noise of NA petrol engine, having to actually think about what you are doing such as when to change gears, matching revs, how much grip and traction you have, etc that makes driving easier. It might make you quicker. But so what? When I go for a drive (or ride) at the weekend then I go because I enjoy driving/riding, not because I actually need to go somewhere. Usually it is the opposite. I go somewhere so that I have an excuse to go for a drive/ride!

Isn’t it about time Porsche did something radical like putting the 911 to a dignified death.
A truly awful outdated ugly piece of junk!
Crikey, just to clear up, my earlier statement was tongue in cheek....

What would that be then given Porsche have discontinued production of diesel models?

Because its another German tank.

Can't beat a big naturally aspirated engine in a supercar - Long live the naturally aspirated engine - that will be a Lamborghini then Sir.
Grab a n/a V10 Huracan Performante beast while you still can. Its a dying breed with gen II Huracan due soon and rumoured to be hybrid
I'll give you this much mate, when you get a bone, you bloody well chew it don't you. ;-)

I think of him as being what Yipper would be like if he actually had the money to do what he says he does. smile

It's funny that Rambo now seems to have given up banging on about how, the very much turbo charged, 650S is the most underrated supercar in the world though.

I know what you mean but a supercar should have a superfast gearbox and no one can change a manual as quick as a DCT not even Vallentino Balboni.
Gallardo single clutch e-gear wasn't very good, a bit too jerky and harsh but the DCT in the Huracan and upgraded version in Performante is phenominal

You can't teach the great uneducated but you are right its still the supercar bargain of the century and will still sit proudly alongside the Huracan Performante when it arrives in March. Best of both worlds IMHO

Surprised that there's no hybrid, I though hybrid was going to replace the Turbo in the lineup.

It would have good too, use the engine to power the rear wheels and a 200bhp motor up front.

I'm glad there isn't, it's extra weight and complexity.

No thanks. I’d rather not be tarnished as being anything like the average Lambo driver...

As long as Porsche remains a car company the 911 will exist. And it will look the same.

40 years from now it will look the same. It might have a battery in the boot instead of an engine but the styling will remain. Oh, and 0-60mph in 1sec...

Seriously, can you imagine an announcement from Porsche that they're axing the 911? It like Buckingham Palace announcing they're axing the monarchy.
