I've read about them today and a lot of people are saying the issue with them is a lot of them haven't been balanced

You have already made up your mind getting one, just assuming you want someone to say yeah crack on mate mines on 100K and is fine.

If you have friends that have chinabay turbo chargers then ask them what brand etc and buy that one, if theres has lasted that long one you buy stands a chance.

But if it spaffs your engine don't come back and blame us.

Traditional vag 1.8T you should go with a KO4 and a custom manifold as your car has the engine the other way.

Most reliable and trusted option IMO ofcourse.

it is a couple of fans in a housing spun by exhaust gas to drag more air in,
is it now?

I'd suggest that a precision toleranced object spinning at over 150,000 times per minute in a stream of gas at nearly 1000 degrees centigrade on one end, and >150 degC on the other end, supported by a complex hydrodynamic bearing system that attempts to keep tiny clearances between moving parts that are passing each other in excess of the speed of sound is a little bit more than that..........
So, it is a pair of precision engineered fans then, fully aware of the pressures and tolerances involved, they arent whittled by GCSE metalwork students but they are fairly simple devices in principle.

Point being the Chinese can knock out a cheaper version, it wont be as good but then again loads of evidence they do work and cost a load less, OEM's wont use them but just being from China doesn't immediately mean they arent fit for purpose and being OEM doesnt necessarily follow that it is.

It will be.

The K04 flows more air than the K03.

They can't be that rare as they were a common upgrade a few years ago.

You'll want the K04, manifold, downpipe, oil and coolant lines and a new TIP.

Will make 270bhp mapped up properly.

I’m not sure of the point of this thread? Any option offered is dismissed by the OP as rare or too expensive yet a post on the other page supporting an eBay turbo idea by giving an example of a Honda running 700bhp with one was also dismissed as the OP only wants 250bhp or so?

I run one in my Clio 182 turbo track car. It's done 2000 very hard miles and is still going strong with no issues if that helps.

He's made his mind up, like many threads I think he's looking for us to tell him it's a great idea.
