RE: Lancia Beta Monte-Carlo: Spotted
Discussion
Something does not exactly run true about that car. The S1 Montecarlo had solid buttresses. The glass ones were a S2 feature. The wheels are certainly S1 though.
My father has an S1 spider and it is an interesting car to drive. The Montecarlo does have its flaws. Rust can be an issue but most of these now are used as classic cars so most (not all) will be in good condition. There are some cars out there being advertised at similar money but have rust issues so beware. Also, I do believe that this is overpriced. A lot of cars at similar ish money have been for-sale for months on end. Sellers speculating on what they think the car is worth based entirely on the values of other similar aged cars. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay after all

Being somewhat of a serial Lancia owner over the years (my first grown up car was a Delta Turbo), I've often wondered about the Montecarlo; I had a brief dalliance with a late run out model Beta HPE and the raspy 2.0 Lampredi is a masterpiece. There can't be many left, but £20K is insane money!
Holy Thread Revival, Batman!
The white car is, I gather, still for sale. 20K is still too much, I reckon, especially in Covidworld, and it appears that the car still has incorrect (even if now legal) black and silver numberplates. A month or two ago what looked like a better car, despite the presence of an ugly albeit period bodykit, sold for something closer to 12K or 13K judging by the CandC advert, which was not up for long. That one may have been a bit of a bargain for someone, as it had a Guy Croft "fast road" engine.
I missed my chance to buy a Montecarlo about six years ago when I almost got hold of a black one with an OK body and engine but a tatty interior. Now they are too spenner.
