We're those wheels a genuine Alfa option? If not, that car seems even more overpriced.
Price aside I'd have this one over the OP one all day long.

Dad ran one or two of these whilst selling Alfas in Nottingham in the late 80s early 90s for Gordon Lamb. These along with the 75s (TS and V6) hold fond memories for me. 13K a lot but as said to the person wanting the best, is there a better on e out there?
My Dad had one also whilst working for Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield!! He shared it with a colleague along with a Celica GT4. The Celica was forever breaking down but the Alfa was fine, not the usual way things go!!

Also had a 75 v6 in weather similar to this week. Bit of a handful apparently!!
Dad worked in Chesterfield and Sheffield too. Sold Saab, Diahatsu, Alfas amongst others. Name was Neville Fawcett.

I have a soft spot for most Alfa's and can see why this is quite interesting but I can't understand who would buy this? it's not something I'd want to run as a daily and then it's not the sort of thing you'd want to thrash around on a weekend, a 156 or 147 GTA would be better for that and the 166 a better daily

I don't necessarily think you'd need to thrash it at the weekend though. The beauty of something like this is to just enjoy taking it out on the odd Saturday afternoon for a spin, and enjoy the occasion in something a bit different from the modern norm

I quite fancy a 900 T16 for quite the same reason

I miss my old 164, it was a lovely car to drive, not a QV though just the lowly V6 24V. The underpinnings may have been shared with Saab, but the two cars feel very different. The 9000 is a comfy cruiser, the 164 feels much more playful. Good to see these cars finally appreciating, they are much more than what they look on paper.

Hate to be pedantic but I think that's either a QV or it's got a QV bodykit, including bumpers (non-QV bumpers didn't have the horizontal grooves, retaining the styling from the 12 valve models, and in fact meant that non-QV 24 valve models were slightly longer overall).

Had five of them back in the day (again, never a QV sadly), and they were all very reliable.

I remember that name, sure I've met him a couple of times. My Dad's Mick Daggett. Small world eh!

Previous owner fitted the body kit, along with a full leather interior (originally was with blue cloth). He had 2 other 164's, both QVs, one of which had a comprehensive restauration. And the chap before him had done a huge amount of tinkering to sort out many of the known faults, so it was a really lovely car, just let down by slightly tatty bodywork with little scratches and parking dings here and there.

Relocating to a LHD country meant that I had to let it go. I've been keeping an eye out for a tidy Q4 over here, but no luck so far unless I spend big money.

I believe that car is a Japanese import, so the wheels may well have been an option over there. The ones I've seen are on the Speedlines, similar to the normal QV; personally I prefer those, the five spokes looks a bit insipid. Price wise, it's in the realm of "if you want one, find another", & on a par those on the continent.

Well well, I know Mick! Remember him well, met him many times over the years when dad was working as they were good mates I seem to remember. Even met your dad in the south of France one year whilst on our holidays in Pres du Lac near Grasse. Would have been around 1986/7? Maybe you were there? Give him my regards (James) and from dad too.

My dad had one back in the day, part exed his fiat croma for a second hand one, it was 'only' a 3.0 v6 but made an amazing noise, think it's still his favourite car to this day. It was two tone - same colours as the cloverleaf in the article but with different rims.

Not sure what the appeal is with Alfa’s, biggest piles of crap going, even the new ones, picture them all in 10 years time. Rubbish cars, everyone knows they’re rubbish but like them because they have ‘soul’. fk all that, I’m not going to praise a manufacturer for being crap.

13 grand, ok....give me an E36 M3 instead....actually I’ll take a 500 pound 318i E36 over this?!

When will this bubble burst

Doesn't stand up, though, does it? The Q4 wasn't available as RHD, &, when ever they're for sale, they're inevitably more than a RHD Cloverleaf.

had a 1990 Lancia Thema with the busso in lx trim hoermann Abarth exhaust, one of the best sounding cars ever especially when coming on cam - the Pavarotti of v6s
Lancia looked nicer inside with the poltroona frau leather kit and alcantara headlining etc but Alfa looked better from the outside I believe both came from same production line so the old legend that Lancia s where somewhat better made was poss. Myth....
Lovely car and makes me want to cry when I think what they did to the brand there is at least hope for Alfa with the guilia

So we're still judging the price of apples based on the cost of pears.

You might be; I'm not.
