I've always fancied an S-Type and have never owned a Jaguar, and my sister lives in Sutton so I could wave to her from outside!

But I have absolutely no need of a car that big and it seems it's no quicker than my E90 330i, just thirstier!

A close escape I think. laugh

Rubbish! It's a Jaaaaaaaaag.

Imagine the plethora of ribald jokes you can have about missing wallets, retired bank managers, where can I park my Jaaaaaaag? etc.

yes

It has a V8. That's the only reason I'm interested in it. Also I think S Types do look quite nice. I mean, not Aventador or DBS nice, obviously, but nice in a traditional way.

Have you bought it yet?

Nasty ding in the n/s front wing. Must be worth bidding £500 on it?

Yes, I'm busier than ever thanks to C19!

Also I'm not sure about how social distancing works when you're test driving a car. Plus essential journeys etc. Will see what the next announcement is.

Mate, I can't. Really. I have zero need of it.

But if it only lasts a couple of months...
biggrin MOT until November I think?
I wonder how much of this has been done since the last MOT? It's done 2.5K since.

Repair as soon as possible (minor defects):
Nearside Rear Suspension component ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated tie rod arm (5.3.4 (b) (i))
Offside Rear Suspension component ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated tie rod arm (5.3.4 (b) (i))

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Offside Front sidelight dim
Nearside Front Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii))
Offside Rear Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii))
Offside Rear Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Nearside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Offside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))

Who cares? That lot is trivial.

but its a bargain basement car so tires, well just stick 3 part worns on and if its not a nutcase replace them all for winter with some decent rubber.

Odd that diagonally opposite brakes are wearing down. Brake balance/ABS module fault? Not a cheap fix if it is.

Someone has to bid them on this, surely?

Absolutely. It may only last a year at most without major work. Not sure how much the first two things will cost if I get a garage to do the work? £500?

I’ll do it for £495 rofl

Proper mingebag way to sort it is to replace the dust covers only although if you’re paying a garage to do it, they might as well replace the ball joints when they’re in there. Check the cost of parts at somewhere like ECP, and it’ll be a couple of hours labour.

new pads..assuming disks are ok £80, should be a relatively simple DIY
Tyres , 235/50/17 are about £80 for a known name mid range, 3 required soon/now (OSF looks to have some life from pics but cant see rest)

car is fairly cheap but then its probably in need of £300+ of spend immediately.

Right, certainly, it's not something I would do myself. I know this isn't the right way to do Bargain Basement but I prefer to get a professional to do the work.
