It’s an SE with the HU-803 stereo. According to the book it’s the top model, but the drivers speaker is not working properly. It’s got a 4 CD auto changer in the head unit, but ideally would want to connect my phone.
Does it have the aux socket in the central arm rest? I had a later one that had one in there, you can then plug in a Bluetooth adapter and bobs your uncle.
I dont think it does unfortunately. Might just have to make do with the radio, but it does seem to have a poor FM connection.

My V70 D5 uses the same HU-803 unit and had similar problems with FM reception until I was told it had two arials one of which was disconnected. On the V70 there is a connection below the rear drivers side light cluster which goes into a small green plastic box (amplifier I assume?)which I think goes to the arial in the rear bumper. Have a dig around in the boot you might be lucky. It made a huge difference to reception on mine.

I can't remember what model the one in the xc90s, but I'd had it a few month when I discovered it is in fact a 6 disc CD changer - it doesn't have a cassette player though.

If all else fails you can get an Bluetooth to FM receiver/transmitter - I have never tried one, I use an old 3.5mm aux to FM transmitter or just listen to the CDs.

Does it have a tape deck? I had a 9-5 aero with an upgraded Harman Kardon system but no usb or aux in.

The FM transmitter I tried was terrible but the Phillips aux to tape device delivered surprisingly good sound quality, not as good as the CD player but about level with the FM radio when playing 320kbps mp3s
I have a spare Macally FM Cup which used to be an Auto Express Besy Buy FM transmitter. If any of you Volvo owners wants it.

Thanks for the offer. Ill only use the car as a run around so won't get much use out of it, prob more use by someone else who does some miles.

It's amazing. Had Radio 1 on earlier and was enjoying the quality of the stereo. Very loud

Beat me to it. I have a GROM connected up to my HU803, and yes it sounds mega!

^ nice car. My mates family were quite well to do, he had one as a 21st birthday present. Bit of an odd choice for a 21 year old but his dad was a real jag fan. I remember he has it 2 years and traded it in for a TT and lost a huge chunk on it. That seems cheap at £500.

Any good? For £575 it’s got to be worth a punt.

My mate’s V70 Diesel is on 250k and still running fine.

For that money it's worth a shot as belts recently changed, decent Mot left and looks in decent condition.

I contacted the seller about that Volvo and he won't let me test drive the car properly. The car is SORN. All he will let me do is drive it up and down his concrete driveway. Onto the next thing then.

Anyone had much luck with sub £1000 audi a3/a4's ?

Planning on having a change around next year so thinking of getting the mrs a a4 and i'm toying with the idea of swopping my puma for a a3 , something a bt more comfy and quiet.

I guess those with the old 1.9tdi lump are a good bet if things like the cambelt have been done.

I have read on here that the old petrols aren't the best. Think in 2.0 guise. If you find one with a 1.8 turbo, I think they are ok though.

I would avoid cheap Audi's.
