Interesting, I think he put up some bks possibly about it being ex-celeb (hence katie price) which ended up with fierce bidding to take the piss.... that or the bidders actually believed him hehe
It is hers, and it was all over the tabloids which is probably why it attracted attention

I've been shedding an avensis for past year. There's a thread on my experiences. Had my ups and downs with it but compared to what I was driving before... I am way better off financially.

Only bad thing is that I have a very intermittent issue with clutch, no idea what it is but I don't fancy buying a new clutch until I need one.
One of my neighbours had clutch trouble with his Avensis.
I bled the hydraulics, about six months ago, and it's been fine since.

Will be jumping on the bangernomics bandwagon at some point this year...

Am I thinking along the right lines with the following? Tried to look for ones with good history/low miles.
I quite like the look of this Saab 9-3:

Low mileage, looks quite tidy. I bet it'll be reliable and cost buttons to run. Only downside for me would be no aircon.

i know its tidy and low miles but £1000 for a basic specced 90's SAAB with no turbo seems too much.

Think the same comments given to the previous Avensis apply here.

Could the 2.0 T mean it has a Turbo? LPT probably.

Data panel on AT listing says 130 BHP. Suggests NA not Turbo. MoT history check says Saab 93 doesn't state 2.0 T.

How is a 1996 car on 56 plates? Why does the odometer measure in kilometres?

Did it need a grand spending on it?

Think they're a bargain nowadays regardless, I was originally after an S but couldn't find a nice one in budget, ended up paying £1250 for a standard 2005 cooper 6 months ago and it's cost me nothing since and not let me down smile

It had a straight thru exhaust that was to loud so that had to go that was pretty much £300

Rocker cover was leaking plus they'd sealed it up with some sealant including the rocker bolts so they needed replacing as well £84

Full service so sparks , ignition leads, air, pollen , oil filter , new oil and a air intake pipe because the old one was split.

And a new abs sensor .

I guess i could of used just used it and fixed the mot failure stuff at mot time .
