What was the warning message?

Never ever thought about one of these and completely off my radar, but I can see why you bought it ( as a fellow dog owner). Good Q car as well, especially on track. Good thinking.

That rear lip is high though

if it was to be used as a general estate, but for you it is more about taking your VIP passengers in comfort rather than doing the equivalent of trying to fit them into a United Airlines overhead bin.........

I might keep my eyes on further depreciation, however I still think running costs might be too high for my lowly wages ....

Nice car, but isn't a Shooting Brake a coupe with an estate back - rather than a saloon with a hatch?

Picked mine up a week ago. I absolutely love it. Seems to get a hefty slating online, but it works for me.

Hi everyone, Matt here!
Just realised this had been published!
So to answer a few questions etc.

Firstly thanks for the tip about the roof and he magnetic seatbelt holder I feel a bit stupid now haha.

WRT the other cars running costs (Lotus and Twingo) basically had a lot of big bills at the same time. The Lotus needed a 6k refurb - repaint, air con, uprated discs pads, ppf etc at the same time as the Twingo needing a 1k service. (Cam belt Water pump, exhaust leaking, lots of other stuff) then new tyres as the inner edges were shot, then broken suspension parts etc.
Running them together just meant constant paying out.
Both have seen further bills having checked up on MoT histories since I’ve sold them so think it was the right decision, do miss the drama of the Lotus and convenience of the little Twingo for parking.

Oh the warning on the dash to let me know the tyres were gone was something like “low tyre pressure please check” or something.
Luckily I work one mile from home so I pumped it up but it was deflating at a rapid rate. By the time I got there it was half flat again. Took the wheel off and it was down to the metal haha.

WRT not buying RS4 C63 My point was they’d be out of warranty at my budget; blowing a gearbox or the head bolt issue with the C63s as well as depreciation and running costs would just be extortionate. I know aftermarket warranty’s are available but I’ve not been down that road before and I guess I felt a bit burnt after the Lotus- it was immaculate when I bought it but turns out it was done very much on the cheap and I didn’t really do my homework other than spec etc once the clam was off the bills kept coming.
Was nice just jumping into someone new and reliable with just £28 a month for a service plan.

It’s in for a recall for a dodgy airbag on Monday so thought I’d get a big service done at the same time so it’s off to Merc World- hopefully I’ll pop upstairs to dribble on the new AMGs!

Tyres are so much better, not noticed crabbing but obviously it’s not Winter so time will tell.
It now grips even more, really impressed won’t be putting anything else on now! Came to £700 for all four but Michelin were running a promo for £100 off so that was very welcome.

Looking into retfurbing a couple of the wheels (always seem to curb a couple with a new car grrrr) and will probably get the calipers painted red to stand out a little more.

Also I’ve seen Tricolour have a removable tuning box for £720 that’s gives another 45hp taking it from 381 to 426hp and it seems well reviewed in the forums. A few for sale 2nd hand for £300 too...

Cheers for the complements I’m still loving it!

Matt
