I've used Event Tyres (www.event-tyres.co.uk) for years for mobile fitting and I've always found them competitive and professional.

I went looking for a price for my next set of summer tyres and found the website gone. Registered address was changed to be a firm of insolvency practitioners as of last Friday.

Companies house shows them in administration which is a real shame. frown

I used them a couple of times a few years back, also found them to be very good, although the fitter who was local to me had a huge patch to get round, and not enough time to do all the jobs.

I felt for him fitting tyres in the dark, yet he was friendly and helpful despite the cold.

I'm guessing the partnership with AA Tyres ended then?

Shame, always had good service from them. The local fitters said it was a bit of a sinking ship though, even with the partnership. Too much work, no overtime payments - they were both actively looking for something else.

I have also bought tyres from them a few times and had good service. In fact I was just about to fit another set and found their website is no longer up - so I did suspect they were no longer trading. It is a shame. I have seen a few companies I have used in the past cease trading recently - hopefully just a coincidence.

The AA tyres site now has the "powered by national tyres" logo.

Both have closed down. Most of their fleet has already been sold off, a bloke I know who runs his own tyre business has bought the event vans and a few AA tyres ones all fully kitted out with tools etc. This'll be the third time the AA have fallen on their face trying to do tyres, maybe they,ll learn one day.

That's a shame - I used them a few times and they were always prompt and did a good job at a good price.

I recently used another national chain against my better judgement and discovered that the wheels would have been more in balance if they had not bothered with weights.

I have used them in the past and they were great and the prices were keen too. However it must be 6 years since the last time and since then I've used mytyres/oponeo/pneus etc

It's a cut throat world out there.

Found this out last week when went to use them, used tyresonthedrive instead. Much the same, actually turned out about £5 cheaper.

That's a shame, i've been using them for about 5 years for both cars. Never had a bad word to say about them. They turn up when requested, do a professional job and i've never once had to get a tyre re-balanced.

Shocked and disappointed. One of the few companies I've dealt with who actually turned up exactly when they said they would, come rain or shine, and the fitter was always polite, chatty and enjoyed his cuppa tea..

Just Googled them to get some tyres fitted, I've used them exclusively for a few years and they're gone, all I could turn up was this thread... Shame... Don't know what to do now

Echo previous comments. Event were always great, I often had the same petrolhead guy, but now used tyresonthedrive twice and they were very good as well.

I used tyres on the drive just a couple of weeks ago.

Great service. Great price. Fitter was quick, tidy and pleasant.

Another previous happy customer here.

Can anybody recommend one of the mobile tyre fitters that fit Uniroyals? Hardly anybody seems to do them.
