Slowest "Performance" Brand Car ?

You know aesthetic means look don't you?
Yes. And you said the AMG Line had an alternative look. I merely pointed out that you could get an AMG Line that nigh on looks identical to an AMG car. And if its not the multispoke black 19s they're imitating, its the other styles.Ares said:
The AMG-line is a different look to the non AMG-line. A manufacturer that offers differing looks. Not really that radical?
And you think those two pictures show radically differing looks then do you?Ares said:
And the differences between AMG and AMG-line are there with wheels/kit/body if you look at a geeky level. I'm no Merc aficionado, but I spot an A45 from an AMG-line on the road. Ditto S and S-Line/M and M-Sport.
Good for you! Its my view that the AMG Line cars in particular are too close to the AMG cars in terms of looks. There is differentiation between RS and S Line cars, and between M and M Sport cars, usually by a combination of significant bodywork enhancements / unique wheels / unique colours. Not so with the AMG / AMG Line cars. Efbe said:

Why do people care if 1 car made by a manufacturer looks the same as another car thats made by the same manufacturer?
daft isn't it!probably because of some warped social backwards class ideal that you should only have what you can afford.
The issue for me is :-
(a) i think Mercedes have been particularly lazy and not differentiated the AMG and AMG Line cars enough. BMW do, Audi do, so why cant Mercedes?
(b) the cars themselves have lost their visual "specialness". You can have a C220d AMG Line that can look nigh on identical to a C63. Visually they've lost their sense of occasion.
(c) you do get people who then refer to their C220d as "the AMG" or "yes, i've an AMG", which IMHO is right up there with sticking M3 badges on the back of a 320d or calling your 318i an M car. I just find that cringeworthy, personally.

Are Merc bothered? Obviously not or they would do something about it.

BMW 1 series driver - Enjoys driving and has an interest in cars. There’s no way someone who hasn’t got an interest in cars would pick a 1 series over a Golf or A class.
My little sister knows the square root of fk all about cars, but bought a 1-series because she liked how it looked, and liked the badge.Nothing to do with how it drives.
She also knows fk all about cars, doesn't even wash it, that's my brothers job.
It was between the 118D and the Merc in question that started this whole thread.
Why? Because of the badge. "I've got a BMW" sounds better than "I've got a Ford"
It's nice enough, she likes it but it's no MX5 and to even attempt to say it is is fking ridiculous.

And I didn't say RS to S, I said S to S-Line.

These are so cheap now it’s a joke! That’s why you see so many of them, AMG looking merc for peanuts
Oh I've checked your 'my garage' and seen you have a beast of a 430d that's too quick for public roads. You know BMW discount the st out of those? It's not before now they've been available for not much more than that little A Class

I think you have an issue, seeing as you’ve gone into my ‘garage’ and taken words out of context! You’re an adult you know what I meant!

And where did i say otherwise? I talked about the A45 and AMG-Line cars. I am quite aware there are non AMG-Line A class out there but they're not the ones that replicate the look of an A45.Ares said:

I know you didnt. However you seemed to have missed that the equivalent Audi brand to AMG is RS, not S. Thus Audi have RS / S / S-Line / Sport. Mercedes miss the "in between" S spec equivalent. People calling the A180 an AMG is right up there with people putting RS4 badges on an A4 or M3 badges on a 320d M Sport. If you disagee, fine.Fast Bug said:
It's an out going vehicle so has additional support and strong residuals so works out well on contract hire. I'm not really sure what your issue is.

Didnt someone say that the AMG Line came out before the A45? If so, its the A45 thats trying to replicate the AMG Line.
I'd say Mercedes were fully aware of what was coming with the A45 and how it was going to be projected. And let's not forget those are AMG wheels and trim bits on the AMG Line so hardly a surprise when the A45 used similar.
Either way - it's a shame Mercedes have saw fit to align the AMG Line cars so closely to the AMG cars or vice versa.

Why have you taken offence to me pointing out how cheap A class’s are? I have no issue with it, just saying it’s a joke how cheap they are given how well equipped they come standard compared to the equivalent 1 series & A3.

Apologies, I thought it was the start of an anti-leasing 'you can't afford it if you lease' style rant I think you have an issue, seeing as you’ve gone into my ‘garage’ and taken words out of context! You’re an adult you know what I meant!

Just for you I've updated my garage. I've missed off countless company cars as nobody cars about those, I do get the nagging feeling I'm missing a few though...daemon said:

If you want outrages looks then buy a Honda, not that the look of that car is very popular on here.

1) The example you gave is expensive I think you have an issue, seeing as you’ve gone into my ‘garage’ and taken words out of context! You’re an adult you know what I meant!
2) They are the same as the equivalent 1-series
