Lovely no doubt, but a million quid for an old supercar?

If speed is what you are after that are far cheaper and faster modern cars that won't require near as much maintenance, Nissan GTR or Ferrari 488?

If classic supercar looks it what you are after then there are no end of classic options De Tomaso Pantera and Maserati Ghibli spring to mind.

You could pick one good classic and one lovely quick modern and still only be at half this cars asking price. With 500,000 for maintenance. I know the buyer will probably be a billionaire who won't care, but this really is silly money for what you actually get.
But none of those other things you mention is a Countach, and if you grew up in the 70s/80s idolising the Countach then only a Countach will do.
Agreed. You've got to put it into context of what the average person was driving back then. In comparison the countach was like a spaceship.

Even amongst the best sports cars of the time there was nothing like it. 40 years later it still looks stunning.

I understand completely, I love the Countach but would I spend a million to have one? Not unless I had an awful lot of spare millions.

I remember Stirling Moss(?) trying one and pointing out that the windscreen is a piece of flat glass. Fun fact...

Given the funds and a fighting chance I'd have that in a heartbeat, it still looks like something from another planet.... imagine spotting one parked up in London in the '70s...

The 'Baby Bull' Urraco was a rare and wonderful sight too...

I believe this was my 1st or 2nd review ever:

Never meet your heroes? I never drove a car that had more drama, in both sound & vision. And driving the thing is: a mere adventure like nothing else.
