But thats the whole point of an RS6 - goes largely un-noticed by the public at large.
really

The RS2 stood out a country mile compared to the competition, I literally scared people of the road when i picked up the B5 RS4, even the 8P RS3 had massive front arches to accommodate the 50mm increased track

Yes in a "chintzy, inner city northern mill town" kind of way.

Audi make dull looking cars and have done so for years.

Top of the range 80-100k car and how bloody boring is that.
I thought for a second that was an Octavia!

Probably a good thing, wasn't it always the point of the RS series that they try to stay under the radar a bit?

Things have changed a bit in the past 12 years
2018:
1.) BMW
2.) Audi
3.) Mercedes
4.) Porsche
5.) VW

2006:
1.) Mercedes
2.) Porsche
3.) BMW
4.) VW
5.) Audi

I'd also put forward that the most consistantly good-looking German model regardless of generation is the BMW 5-series.

Porsche & Mercedes out front for me.

  1. biased.

I think Audi have lost the plot a bit, they all look the same unless side by side for size comparison.
I actually think that car is rather ugly, especially when you think that they didnt have to make it spacious or child friendly, so could have designed anything.

Mercedes definitely make the best looking cars at the moment.

Then:

BMW
Audi/Porsche

I would put the Audi A3 & A4 up there as one of the most boring cars ever made. I think the A3 might even be more boring than a VW Golf which takes gold prize.

Why anyone would spend over £20,000 on a new Golf baffles me on a daily basis.

If you look at an rs6 in real life it looks really really good and aggressive. Love the body kit on it, no one does performance wagon styling like audi. Even the rs3 turns an extremely dull a3 into one of the best looking hot hatches

Isn't that sort of the point of an RS6? A reasonably discreet image? Either way it's still more shouty than the earlier models appearance wise.

Mercedes
Audi
BMW
Porsche

Though, our C7 A6 is a solid car, but very basic, really expected more.

Thats fair enough that you like it.

I just think that they have missed an opportunity to make something far sexier.

I've never understood how any one can view any BMW as a good looking car, especially the gopping x6.

If probably view Porsche as the best looking cars bar the Cayenne. Then Audi, even if their whole range looks the same.

Mercedes to me are just trying too hard to get away from their old pensioner image to modern bling, especially with the massive badge on the front grill.

Then again I'll probably never own a German car so all of this is irrelevant to Me!

I'm finding it hard to decide!

BMW make some stunners like the 4 and 6 Series GCs, but some mingers like X2, X4, X6 and 2 Series Gran Tourer.

MB make some decent ones like the SL, CLS and AMG GT, but also mingers as in A & B Class, GLA, GLC, droopy-arsed C and E class models.

Audi just make the same shape in different sizes, and with different ride heights but they are all instantly forgettable! The only exception being the R8, which looks great IMO.

VW are inoffensive, but not really exciting especially now the Scirocco has gone.

Porsche have a range of odd looking cars, apart from the 911 which is iconic.

To be fair if you are looking for styling Italy is a better place to start, but ideally let the Germans do the quality control!

Ignoring all the small manufacturers and tuners like Ruf and Abt.

Porsche

Mercedes

Audi

BMW

All the German companies produce stinkers on occasion but Porsche are the most consistently good looking in my opinion.
