When I sold my collection. I held back my BMW brochure collection. At the time, I loved the brand, having owned 2 bad ones I’m not so bothered anymore!
So, do I list individually on eBay or are whole collections something that sell?
I haven't sold any on eBay for a long while, but when I did brochures sold individually tended to yield more money. Depends on time/inclination, I guess. So, do I list individually on eBay or are whole collections something that sell?
Very impressive collection there!
There are a few people with mags/ brochures here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... - if of any interest?

Impressive collection. I have 30 odd good condition Autocar mags from the 90s if you are interested. They have been boxed in my garage for years and I didn’t want to throw them away.
Thanks - no, I'm fine: I have a complete run of Autocar back to October 1964, so it's ones earlier than that I'm looking for.Sadly, most manufacturers now only let you have PDF copies. Most of my collection dates from 1976-1982. It increased in about 2005 when I realised I could get the postman to deliver current copies for nothing. I'm gradually parting with duplicates on Ebay. My rarest brochure is probably for the Range Rover CSK.
Yesterday was talking to a neighbour who could not understand why anyone would want to buy a car brochure.

Do manufacturers still publish brochures in printed format? Can’t remember the last car I bought for which I browsed a brochure...maybe the 2007 Audi Convertible? I still have that brochure! I did try selling a few Rolls Royce brochures / publications on eBay but they didn’t go...still have them too!

I got a good old fashioned brochure for my Ford Ranger in March. It’s just dawned on me that since I started this thread I’ve moved house - with my collection of stuff being moved after the ‘domestic’ stuff.

Insanely envious of your collection!
From being about 13 In the mid 90s when car manufacturers were putting time and effort into their websites I used to request brochures all the time, much to the annoyance of my parents! If a website offered brochures, I'd request them. So much so when I bought my first car when I was 19 in 2004 I had the exact brochure that it featured in when it was new, so I knew exactly what extras it had and how much they'd have cost.
I also had 12 months worth of Top Gear magazines from around 1995, as well as every What Car? magazine between 1998 and 2003.
Unfortunately whilst they were all boxed up in storage during a house move they all went missing along with a few other boxes.
Properly gutted.

My old man has Autocar from (I believe) 1919 to date in bound volumes in his study, and has compiled indices to them all too.
They sound utterly fabulous. I’m still trying to compile a post-WWII run of Autocar (and Motor), but I’d struggle to resist an archive such as that should one become available. keithwrjones said:

Not sure what happened, they were in a 'secure' storage unit for about 6 months between a house move. About four or five other boxes went missing from the same unit but again it was stuff that was of no value to anyone else, just nik naks and the like. The owner of the storage unit did give us back three months fees as way of an apology, but I'd have much preferred to have my stuff back. It's one of them unfortunate things I guess, I just got unlucky!
