Reasonably easily when entering a corner and the passenger side wheels drop off the road onto the grass causing the back to slide, the driver corrects a bit but doesn't straighten up in time as the wheels/momentum fire the straight back into the bank.

It would come as a surprise though if it turned out the car was fitted with mismatched, worn, under/over inflated budget tyres.

That's Quarry Corner and the conditions at the weekend were far from ideal, it was heavy rain early on then damp with random patches of standing water for the bulk of the day. By 4pm when that Clio was out there was a defined dry line which if you strayed off then understeering into the barrier is the likely outcome. He was relatively lucky that Castle Combe have added an extra layer of GIANT bubble wrap in front of the tyre wall which hugely reduced the amount of damage sustained.

That Clio crash is standard issue at Combe an likely claims a hundred cars a year doing exactly that. It was NOTHING in comparison to the chap who absolutely destroyed in Subaru Impreza after aquaplaning off at Tower and flipping the car into the marshal's watch post!

They don't call the Castle Combe "Action Days" for nothing
