“I was driving towards Derby and suddenly went through some flood water. The car just veered out of control.”

Even the ultimate driving machine can’t handle standing water at speed!

From my dashcam earlier. Only 8 seconds so not overly tedious.

Bit disappointed really, as this fella was driving like an absolute tool and I'd have had no problem submitting this to the police. But the video doesn't really show it.

20mph limit near my home, he was in a 5 series coming towards us. In the 6 or so years I've lived here, I haven't seen anyone come along the road as rapidly as he was. I'm guessing 3 to 4 times the limit when I first saw him in the distance.

Even as he braked at the junction in my rear view mirror I could see his hazards came on - a safety feature on the car I guess.

Utter idiot, cannot stand people like this, just wish the video was better.

Fake number plates might explain things. Looks like an F10 5 series wearing a 2007 plate?

What he should have said: "I was belting along like a tool when I got a hefty dose of hubris."

Old one but interesting, did you notice the cars who decided to pull over into the hard shoulder. That will help the emergency services getting through as all the traffice builds up in L1 and 2.

I particularly enjoyed how there was noone in L1 as far as the eye could see but he stayed in L2.

Just to add a bit of context, I know that bit of road and where the accident happened is just before the slip road for people joining from the M1, so if there's nothing behind me wanting to overtake I often stay in L2 until I'm past the sliproad to allow traffic to join more easily.

i know that road as well, and he starts at the off slip in l2 and stays there for no reason other than being a bmw bellend, keep to the left is pretty clear in highway code.

Some of the mothers blindly pushing their prams and pushchairs out of gaps in vehicles where they can't possibly see frown

I had that with a couple of local kids throwing big lumps of mud. I suspect that they found another hobby after I counselled them on their behaviour. No harm done.
