I am with the van driver to be honest, you know its a queue, just get in-line with everyone else, its not illegal to jump the queue but its bad manners to just presume your more important than everyone else and skip to the front! You wouldn't do it in any other situation in life, queuing at the supermarket or to get into a venue.
I will add I would not have acted like him both in the driving aspect and in how he has conducted himself since!
Jesus Christ, really.I will add I would not have acted like him both in the driving aspect and in how he has conducted himself since!
It's not queue jumping. Educate yourself.

Dude - it's not a queue. You think it's a queue. It looks like a queue, because other people like you get in-line. It's not a queue.
It's a merge in turn. A filter. You join like a zipper. This has been done to death on here.
By lining up in lane one (notice I'm not saying getting in the "queue") well before the actuall pinch point, all you are doing is extending the tail back. The often blocks other exits, or roundabouts, or leaves people vulnerable at the back on the exit of a motorway.
People do it where i live on one particular road, and it causes a tailback that stops me turning off to my parents house. It is utterly moronic and I'm flabbergasted how many people just don't get it.
it is NOT a queue. So you can't "push in".
You are a muppet for sitting in line like a drone.
I drive past these and merge in turn all the time, and all teh time I'm laughing inside.
At you.
:-)
'By lining up in lane one ' so your saying lining up and queuing are different? Define a queue, I will get you started its a line of people or in this case cars.It's a merge in turn. A filter. You join like a zipper. This has been done to death on here.

'You are a muppet for sitting in line like a drone.' - I just sit there as I don't want to be the self entitled smug person zipping past everyone else.
All this talk of Benton reminds me of this...

There were even t shirts printed with Benton on them...when the dogs name was actually Fenton.
Slightly off topic, sorry.

the merge in term is a dynamic thing based on traffic volumes, the poster could have clearly merged before hand in available gaps, zipping merge relies on certain factors, driving to the very end to merge would be wrong thing in this situation, traffic was stood and would slow line down, but the problem is people think in on/off , when it clearly depends on traffic conditions.

What a cretin. My daughter was born three months early, she died 3 times, I was running a business too. I didn’t act or drive like a cock.
If anything it changed my perspective on life massively. You don’t get upset about traffic merges when you have serious stuff like properly Ill babies to worry about.

Amazing. My own kids spent 11 weeks in the NICU and I had to sleep at the hospital, get up and go to work, and eat dinner alone in the hospital canteen every night then sleep there again. I didn't use it as an excuse. I notice there's no apology in there anywhere.

I'm not self entitled - I'm just intelligent, and don't just follow the crowd through lack of willing to understand why.
Your line of cars in lane one, in farness, is a queue. The thing is, there is another queue to your right, with no one in it, so I use it :-).
I had this discussion, zip merging etc, with one of my employees whilst I porformed a proper merge towards the "pinch point". He actually cringed and slid down his seat. As asked what on earth he was doing. It became quickly apparent that he found it totally socially unnaceptable due to peer pressue. No amount of explaining the logic and benefits of merging (exactly as the signs tell you) got through to him. It's "pushing in" and that's that.

i deleted it as someone posted above, but people get confused, zip merging works perfectly in theory in practice doesn't unless traffic is light to medium (flow rate). the video situation, driving down lane 2 to merge at end, would only reduce traffic tailback length not traffic flow. So that is why people get pissed.Buggles said:

People like you ruin the road network and cause road rage where it's not necessary. Merge in turn, use both lanes. It's not difficult mate.
Here's a picture that sums it up perfectly;
And even on the RAC's website;

It'd make life much simpler if those merge in turn signs were on every closed lane section but they rarely are so people in lane one just see their lane not moving, it is a British thing though, people rarely queue for anything once you get the other side of the channel People like you ruin the road network and cause road rage where it's not necessary. So he's playing the victim card.
Hilarious, especially when not too long ago he said "Il hopefully see you soon, got my IT people looking too."
Anyway, hopefully one day he will reflect on his actions and realise what a dick he's been. He's obviously been reading this thread, so he should have picked up on how merging works too.

Bet he still won't admit he's in the wrong and this whole situation is of his own doing.
Using a family illness to deflect is shameful.
