Its the old moose test and a high centre of gravity, fast moving swerve and other you go. Transit must of played a part or it would have stopped

several examples of near misses due to folk making up their own rules.
For example stopping on the main road to let folk out from the side road.
I'm increasingly seeing this on my daily commute.
And of course there is nothing wrong with stopping to let people out. Admittedly its not best practice to suddenly stop from 60 to let someone out, but in slow moving traffic, or if had to slow as car in front turning left there's no reason not to let the person trying to come out and turn right from making their manoeuvre

A good assumption by the look of it.

It appears the White van driver was innocent party. Land Rover went from lane 1 to 2, clipping front of van before losing control. Obviously we are still investigating the matter for reasons why the accident happened

Since when is an XF (probably a 2.2 diesel) a "sports car"?

Probably since an AMG badge on the back of Merc, or an M badge on a BMW said more about the trim level then the engine...

Hope you are being facetious, otherwise you are a .
Looks a bit of a horror, but I've seen worse- second car looks to have been that close by accident (thought first car was changing lane, pulled left a bit before seeing cyclist). Should have been paying more attention, and going a bit slower, but at least probably didn't actually intend to pass a bike with only 12 inches clearance.
I've been passed easily that close by drivers who must have seen me well in advance, and just thought 12 inches was enough, as I am sure have most regular city cyclists.

It appears to have been made non-clickable for some reason - click here. https://thumbsnap.com/7tw2SDmW

It's a gif which shows a presumably very distracted person coming extremely close to seriously injuring another person. I have some words to describe the first person, but I'll stick with "dangerous"

Looks to me like the 1 series driver is not paying attention and is in a rush, when the car in front indicates to move right the 1 series moves left and speeds up to undertake both cars but suddenly realised the cycle rider!

Was waiting to see if anyone questioned the dash cam drivers lane choice as both cars on the inside look to be going quicker.

Is it a proper dual carriageway or one of these two lane 30MPH roads. There's one in my town, I don't think anyone keeps left unless they need to be in the left lane at the next roundabout.

I'd say he was already pressuring/intimidating the Astra, closing the gap in even a short clip and going for an undertake when he thinks the Astra is going to change lanes, rather than making room.

If I were the cyclist I would have chosen that rather than the edge of a 2 lane road.
