At 4.50 when the car rear ends the one in front its brake lights start flashing just before the impact. I guess it's possible the driver was pumping the brakes but is it a thing that when ABS kicks in it also makes the brake lights flash? A good idea if that is the case.Thesprucegoose said:

In fairness, I nearly didn't swerve. It's only because the oncoming filter lane was empty that I did, otherwise I was prepared to go into the side of the poxy thing!

Yep. The Volvo FHs and DAF XFs are terrible for it, I speak from experience. He couldn't have been in a worse blind spot position there. There is also the small detail that the accident wouldn't have happened if the camera car wasn't driving so slowly to cause trucks limited to 56mph to overtake. By the speed the ISO tank truck went past he wasn't driving at more than 50mph.
