Yep, the solid line is there for the two side roads, which the poster seems to have ignored as unworthy of consideration.

Bloody close squeak with that car on the horizon, as you say.

It was close, or there was room as he was 'making progress', but ultimately the oncoming car probably had a bit of a surprise!
I think Jamie was being sarcastic seeing as the headlights of the oncoming vehicle appear to be ~ 600 yards down the road. "It was close" is just a slight exaggeration me thinks.

The steel which is insecure and comes off the van at 2.38 could have been very unpleasant. When I say "insecure " I think I mean "not secured in any way, just plonked on a transit." As it was, the van driver will have got a hell of a shock ....

Applause to the cam car if the slight move forward was because he saw the steel moving - saved a hefty bit of damage there.

I guess I've become one of those people that posts dashcam footage online, watching it back it looks a lot less dramatic than it felt. I feel I need two things now, a clean pair of trousers and a better dashcam...

How can I go about avoiding similar situations in future? I don't think I was approaching that corner too fast..
I know that bend, Macc isnt it ?

It can be difficult when turning right there if something is coming quickly, just perhaps back off a smidge more and assume someone is going to scuttle across in front of you, that whole road can be a bit ropey, bit narrow, bits are quite unlighted, crap surface in places and busy.

The lack of give way signs at 6.15 are going to cause a real nasty.

Yeah it’s Macc. The road going to Alderly Edge.

I think I didn’t spot the side road as a potential hazard which is why the little VW caught me unawares. No harm done but something to learn from.

13:50 onwards is just pure art the longer it goes on; the gormless face, the cross swinging wildly from his rearview mirror, the restricted aspect ratio, the misguided thought that the cammer was t-boned at 14:11, the majestic bait & switch at the end. 10/10

Pearler. Overtaking Landy ends up in a hedge.

Looks like a punishment type pass to me - maybe some previous but the start of the video looks fairly innocuous.

He's done that before, thought he would have learned his lesson by now.

Not much you could have done differently. You could stop in the distance you could see to be clear. As others have said, maybe get right up to the nearside as you go around bends.

That extra foot or so can help massively.

Lots of brake checking in the US

Some great cop action in the last clip at 10:40 ... two mommas fighting in the street after a minor car accident. We need that kind of swift but decisive antagonist separation here!

oh yeah the guy with the baseball bat at 5:10 is good too

This was from the other day, genuinely lucky I hadn't already overtaken the Fiat 500, as I’m pretty sure I’d have been going quicker round that corner

Come on be fair, we're on page 300 and something of a 4 part thread, a fast moving one at that. Duplicates are almost certain.
