Its remarkable how people act when they quickly caught in the wrong. The obvious thing to do would be to apologise profusely but for some reason defence kicks in.

Well done to the driver - some would have escalated that rapidly.
Maybe he was going to apologise but when he saw the OP mouthing 'fu##### idiot' decided not to ?

In this case it's major to minor, so the pedestrian shouldn't be there..

If you turn into a road you are supposed to give way to anyone crossing it
Does that apply on a roundabout? I know a give way junction if somebody is already crossing they have right of way.
Everywhere (tries to think of any exceptions) give way to pedestrians
If they're already in the road, obviously you have to give way, technically though the pedestrians should give way if a car is going from a major to minor road - the opposite way the pedestrian has priority.

In this case it's major to minor, so the pedestrian shouldn't be there. Not to mention that's a stupid idea from the cyclist as you're in the A-pillar blind spot of the car. And on the pavement.
It's quite Lear the cyclist, which we know is not a pedestrian, clearly didn't look, Tard.

Major to minor the pedestrian still has priority

It's a shared use path, and cyclists generally have priority. Especially when dealing with a shared use path, the rules should be the same as for a pedestrian.
Nb. This is partly why I despise shared use paths. Ambiguity arises at crossings (of which there are invariably many), causing greater potential conflict than just using the carriageway. Not to mention the proximity to pedestrians.

It's utterly irrelevant who has the legal right of way when you're laying in hospital with a broken leg and the car has nothing more than a slight rub mark on it where you bounced off.

Cyclist was a tool for not even thinking about checking if it was safe to cross.

Not the greatest road user, but it's better that he's on a bicycle than in a car.

The reason pedestrians and cyclists have a priority is that they dont have to take a test to use the road so wont know the rules.
However it seems the cyclist in that video was perfectly aware of the rules and used it fully.
Wouldnt most people have let the car around then crossed?

The cyclist looks old enough to have heard of the Green Cross Code. Perhaps he's not from those there parts?

I think sometimes a bicycle can be the default transport for those who cant get a motor vehicle for many reasons, he looked like he had some issues, it does drag the side down, like the big groups blocking the road, you dont really notice single, sane, polite and courteous cyclists (and they do exist).

I worked in a pub and a bloke called Stan came in with his mate who looked like Rod Hull, Stan would drink 10 pints of mild or so every night and was a fetching shade of purple, now the brckish water that passes for a pint of mild isnt that strong but ten pints takes its toll on a nine stone elderly piss head, but he would still get on his Raleigh Shopper with no lights on and weave his way home, I wouldnt have classed him as a cyclist, more a wheeled alcoholic.

The bar to entry to cycling is even lower than driving.

Sounds like he was once a driver but got caught doing exactly that, in a car, so the next best thing is a bicycle

I'd imagine that's quite effective.
