There's something very sad about a fully-grown man tucked away behind a hedge, eagerly anticipating for someone to commit the most minor and harmless of traffic offences, so that he can spend the next few minutes needlessly causing a scene (and recording it).

It's difficult to get annoyed at someone with such a pitiful existence. This was probably the highlight of his week, and he will almost certainly be up to the same antics again soon. It's only a matter of time until he antagonises the wrong person.
This is what happens when one side (car drivers) have number plates and the other (cyclists) have no form of ID and can just cycle off down a pavement somewhere when it suits them. It's only a matter of time until the ones with a few screws loose start doing stuff like this.

Sadly it's also only a matter of time until they do it to the wrong person(s).

Doesn't look like he even touches the brakes at all? What an idiot

He seems to have had his mates in the car, so quite clearly attempted to show off a bit.

Yeah, let’s all start ignoring traffic directions and cut corners where it suits us, what can possibly go wrong? laugh

The move the driver attempted is done on a daily basis nationwide and almost all the time it is pulled off successfully with no drama and everything remains efficient with flowing traffic. It's one of those situations as someone else mentioned above whereby it's just a case of the driver using some logical thought and forward planning.

As noted, no oncoming traffic, nobody is inconvenienced... So no problem.

Typical cyclist crying for attention.

Yes he is a bellend and a hypocrite.

He ignored a cyclist cycling the wrong way up the road and then onto the pavement, and he was breaking the law by causing an obstruction. He waited specifically to stop people and cause a confrontation.

As someone who works in London, the cyclists are far worse when it comes to breaking the rules of the road than any car drivers.

I expect that particular bellend to be requiring the services of a doctor himself soon, if he keeps doing that.

this.

Eventually he'll end up in trouble, try standing in the middle of the road blocking cars pointing and instructing them to "go back" near a rough estate or to someone in a stolen car (plenty of them about on cloned plates). his camera isn't going to offer him any protection as it's not hard to detach it.

Don't really see an issue with what the SUV driver did to simply turn right considering the oncoming lane was empty. Yeah it's a bit naughty/cheeky but who gives a flip Nobody was about to be put out of their way by the manoeuvre and it would have reduced the queue on the other side by minus 1 vehicle at least anyway.

This bush-hiding cyclist needs to possibly shove his saddle a bit further up his backside tongue out
It's one of those situations where clearly it's against the law, but it's not a cynical law breaking - it's a sensible thing to do. It keeps traffic flowing more quickly.
Indeed. The cyclist was spectacularly ttish. The Volvo manouvre may have been against the letter of the law, but seconds earlier the road on other side was clear, and the Volvo could have 'nipped through' without impeding anyone. As it was, cyclott caused the blockage on the other side, hence why the cabbie wasn't happy. The whole episode is embarrassing. That he didn't bother with the cyclist @ 22secs proves his hypocrisy, and that this was done to gather youtube views rather than any sense of civic duty. £1m says he wouldn't have pulled that on a 15year old Transit with 3 builders in it....

I agree, so many times where there is a long queue of traffic and a right hand turn a bit further up, when it's clear, you can overtake with your indicator on and no harm done. Mountain and Molehill comes to mind.

I think that in the low light with reflections of the streetlight he could have simply misjudged where the kerb was. At normal speeds he could have avoided it but he clearly nails it away and was travelling too fast before he realised.

Here he is, hiding in the bushes, doing the exact same thing.

All rather strange, it's like something he does on his lunch break?! Hides in the bushes with his camera, waits for someone to pull out, then springs into action.

Might be this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA4Nw4sDT4U

Is he seriously stood on that corner waiting for people? What an absolute weapons grade bell end.

I don't disagree the Merc is in the wrong here, but I simply cannot stand the self-appointed road captain/police brigade.

Edit - Zed beat me to it

Got myself in a bit of a "coffin corner" here, just got on the A1 was planning on staying in lane one for a while at 60 when I came up behind a 20mph car. Lorry behind me and too much traffic to pull into lane 2, in hindsight should have undertaken on the hard shoulder or just pulled up.

What a Bellend!!

As a cyclist i'm perfectly happy to stand my ground against motorists doing stupid stuff but i certainly would go out of my way to seek it out like this guy does!!
