Also. The red car 3.46 - should not have been exiting the roundabout from the inside lane like that. His fault there.

Hmm, how can we improve these dash cam compilation videos? How about reading a description of what is about to happen just before it happens?

It's quite useful in a way. I guess he could put some opinion into it. Make it a bit more news-y and less droney?

Most bikers seem to manage to filter, YouTube dashcam ones seem to be looneys,.
Maybe your onto something.......

Maybe the wide angle lens creates a speed distortion? Which it does btw, everything in front seems further away and everything at the sides appears faster. You can recreate this effect in real time inside video games which have an FOV adjustment.

In about 50% of these dashcam videos the camera car/bike can see that someone is about to pull out or across but accelerates or aims straight at them to make a point.

And a huge number of drivers do exactly the same without having a dashcam.

Fair point, but the biker in question, even allowing for that seemed to be going substantially faster than the largely stationary traffic.

People will change lanes, some wont indicate, some wont even look and even if they do there is so much going on, angles, obstructions and the like, it is easy to miss a bike coming up in that situation. If you are coming through, the faster you go the higher the risk and the less contingency you have, its all very well being in the right but its not much use if you are squashed between two trucks.

On two wheels you have to take more responsibility for your own safety and be more defensive, to avoid the situation rather than getting into confrontations.

That one isnt that bad, some of them, especially the younger ones in a few of the compilations are a complete liability.

Someone being a dozy/careless twonk shouldn't surprise anyone driving/riding too often, I make a note of when I get caught out and think what I should have done differently, not them as I am the only one I can do anything about, I find trusting your instincts is a good one, though DCW's seem to prefer using it to cause a situation then make a scene like a toddler/Prima Donna footballer rolling on the floor clutching an imaginary injury.

I won't disagree that filtering at speed is a risk, but equally given the attitude of some drivers toward bike and cycle filtering, coming in at speed might discourage someone from attempting to block said filtering vehicle.

You might not think it's very common, but i'm commuting by bicycle at the moment due to a long winded insurance and DVLA fk up, part of my 3 mile commute takes me down a road with some pretty horrendous traffic congestion (due to road works) and in the space of around half a mile I will get at least 2 drivers who very deliberately swerve out to try to stop me passing them. The faster I go the less of a good idea they seem to think it is.

Why should he.? He 's allowed to filter. Why sit there like a plum with all the cars?

Why not wait in turn?
Because I don't want to get sandwiched between two cars when the idiot behind is pissing about on their phone, and because i'm legally allowed to filter, it makes the queues shorter and reduces congestion.

Why wouldn't I?

Agreed, it does look very stage but that first punch makes me think otherwise.
Everybody involved seems so over-dramatic and they look like they're acting, but the first punch connects to his jaw perfectly. There's no faking that!
