Knackered rear dampers wouldn't help either.
I think you mean front, but yeah.
Not in my experience!

The chase down and resultant car park brawl at 2:30 onwards is pretty good

Some really decent clips in there, better than the insipid UK stuff

I don't normally post videos (and I'll probably regret this on here), but the incident below was rather annoying.

The moron in the Almera was so close I could touch him.

The sound is me tapping his car because as he overtook me, he began to turn left across me before he had cleared my bicycle.

Oh well. Flame away. hehe

Any constructive criticism about my bike riding gratefully received. smile

No criticism, constructive or otherwise, driver was a plonker.

An observation though, having seen this happen lots of times- as far as I know, dealing with cyclists is not covered in the whole training and testing process for drivers, or if it is, that's a very recent thing which won't have affected many current drivers. It really needs to be. Rather more important than be able to reverse into a parking bay.

Driver education relies on having a tiny fraction of common sense and consideration though - normal people wouldn't get anywhere near the vulnerable cyclist to save 10 seconds on their journey... But not everyone is blessed with two brain cells to rub together.

The best thing is, he overtook me and then had to stop at a set of traffic lights just down the road. smile

Yep, absolute textbook behaviour for the banzai overtaker where it's not appropriate - stop at the next set of lights and everyone says hello again. smile

I sort of agree with that but is not always that simple. The same people who drive 12 inches from a cyclist will give a pedestrian more space.

Anyway, if we simply take the view that they are too stupid to improve, then we are giving up on the hope of making roads safer and more relaxing for everyone to use. That can't be right. Driver education really hasn't been tried at all- no one gets any further training after they have passed their test, perhaps 30 years + ago, unless they chose to do so.

But how do you force someone who doesn't care about their driving to improve? Put them into further training and they'll do the bare minimum to pass and continue in their bad habits.

Ultimately a skill that someone doesn't care for won't be something they spend time into improving.

As regards a lot of aspects of driving I am sure that is right, but I think plenty of people would want to improve an aspect of their driving which had such an obvious and direct link with avoiding death or injury (and the associated risks of prosecution for an imprisonable offence).

Even Reg Local's dictum for passing cyclists (I think it is 'aim to follow, prepare to pass') would be a good start- it's just 6 words!

Think they yanked up the handbrake to initiate it as never took the yaris to have enough power to get the backend out on liftoff oversteer
More likely to be crappy ditchfinder tyres and/or tyres without any tread left on them. Our run-about C1 with the same engine as that will step out on wet rbts like that without much persuasion, but it does still have ditchfinders on the back from when we bought it.
Sorry to go into full pedant mode, but your C1 doesn't have the same engine as that Yaris.

Not sure we've had this one before, it's a bit long but some of them certainly get the pulses racing - especially the last one with RR and bikes!

That guy (driver) was an idiot and the guy trolling the comments for your vid is definitely a Pistonheads member.
