CyclingMikey is still hiding in bushes...

https://youtu.be/lGkYM_PE2DA

Really cannot stand this guy. Fair enough the van driver was on his phone, but a weird cycling enthusiast who loiters on street corners looking for people to antagonise isn't the right person to police him.

Then again, sending the footage to the police Vs video views....

I thought these thoughts form Ashley Neal on lanes which merge into one were put forward well.

If you have an accident the lane not ending has priority whatever he might say. You cannot forsee what people may or may not do. You cannot merge until it is safe to do so. I never expected a merge, thought they were going around roundie, but they did, and had no where to go, yet i was the one who was the bad driver in their eyes. People blidly drive expecting the world to resolve around them.

Don't give him the ammo he's looking for by using your phone at the wheel. No sympathy for the van driver at all, he should have driven off instead of trying to get clever with someone who has nothing better to do and clearly invites people to try and intimidate him on camera.

What an absolute stroker. Van driver absolutely shouldn't have been on his phone, but in his haste to have his confrontation, he seemed to miss the cyclist going the wrong side of the traffic island.

What happened to the space in front?
What are you getting at. They couldn't move in front as they weren't in front. We entered merging pointparallel, as i'm in the lane that doesnt end, i would always have priority, it is up to merger to either move ahead or behind. That is how it works.

There was minimal traffic so no reason to use both lanes but i guess they were impatient and tried to get infront but didn't thus road rage..

This is half the problem having one lane that merged into another people get the ‘this is my lane you have to give way to me’ crap (not saying that’s what happened here) they should have the merge markers on both lanes so people should accept a more zip like merge, in theory...

It's the whole point of this thread, a video tells a million words.
I'm guessing you've reviewed the footage and realised it's not as clear cut as you thought in your mind (I've done the same when reviewing an incident).

Haha, we know exactly what happened; SG blocked the other car from merging. That’s why he won’t post the footage. What a cock.

This one made it into Daily Mail earlier, so that that van drivers life is going to be a pain for a little while. He is lucky that he saw the camera and pulled back from any aggression.

Mikey made a few quid perhaps.

This is imo 99% likely what happened but will await SG posting the clip before adding the final 1%. smile

Unfortunately too many people ready to get passive aggressive on here. I'm already at fault for blocking so would be pointless posting just to be vilified.

I guess then from that response it would be fair to assume you were driving tight up to the vehicle in front's rear bumper whilst angrily mouthing "you're not getting in front of me, pal" to the driver of the vehicle that was attempting to zip merge as per the Highway Code. smile Just a normal day on UK roads then.

Theres two lanes there that merge into one. Blue car had indicator on from start if video

The dcwkER is behind and then speeds up to undertake being extremely lucky that the blue car didn't just cut into lane one.

Definitely living up to the wker tag MUST GET ON DASH CAM.

If you look you can see the car cut across the lane, there are merge turn arrows further. The blue car basically didn't see me, I didn't expect them to cut straight across, it is 2 lanes for about 20 metres.

Why didn't you just ease off and let him go? He was in front of you coming off the roundabout and you knew it was a merge, either there or in 20m.

They were ahead of you. Why didn't you simply ease off and let them go first? Interesting there is no sound, how long were you on your horn?
