It's bullst. I used to drive them full time and still do occasionally - a car sideways on like that, even with the momentum from a fully loaded trailer behind you, is going to bring you to a halt pretty quickly. If you were driving on the pedal you'd instantly notice this and would need to press it considerably further to maintain the speed. I suppose if you have it on CC then that would take care of it by itself, but I still don't believe the driver would not know. For one thing you'd feel the impact of something hitting the front and straight away be looking around to see what it was. It's fair to say that the taller cabs like the DAF XF, Volvo FH and Merc Actros where you're sat high up, there is every chance you wouldn't even see the car there if you weren't leaning forward or using your front mirror, but for lower cabs like the DAF CF Royal Mail truck there's no way you wouldn't see a car there. The Royal Mail driver didn't even have a trailer anyway so he'd have had his foot planted to the floor just to push that 1.5 tonne of car along.

I agree, added to what a couple other people have asked, I check all the mirrors including the front downward one just like you’d check the rear view in a car every what 5/10 seconds or so especially when driving round town. I know what these blind spots can be like so always try to know what’s around me at all times to minimise the chance of being caught out.

As above the car may have got into that position unseen and a unit made to pull 40+ tonne could easily push a 1.5 tonne car but he must have a felt even a slight bump which to me would immediately mean a check of all the mirrors. And surly the sound of those squealing tyres must have been heard! But then iv never been in that situation.
There was a video on here few months back of camera car in lane 2 when a lorry in lane 1 is pushed into 2 by a car doing the same thing so doubt he didn’t feel it unit only. Must have been in his own world.

Not if he'd got the radio on, modern truck cabs are like luxury cars these days, well sound proofed, hell even my Mondeo allows very little sound in from outside.

His window was down a bit at the start of the clip.
He was still pretending to be unaware anything was wrong, even with all the screeching noise!

Bloke in the micra should have put his foot down . Im sure the power to weight ratio is similar to the truck. The local oaf following would have stacked it round one of those roundabout eventually.

RE: Royal Mail truck, you can see the wheels of the truck spinning as they come to a halt in the video. The guy just kept the gas on to see how far he could get. We don't need idiots like that on the road.

Fair play to EG for getting out to help.

I think an awful lot of those pickups get remapped and de-restricted, making them far more dangerous than some boyracer in a bazzed up Fiesta. I work with a guy who has an L200, he reckons he could get it remapped for 280bhp, he would as well if the thing wasn't completely f**ked, honestly it barely starts.

What do we think of this? I personally think the biker is completely in the wrong and put himself in a stupid position. The cynical part of me is wondering if he's seen a poor driver, and decided to see if he can do something to get views, why else would you stop abruptly at the corner of a slowing car? PLus he's clearly nothing more than a bully.

He effectively created that situation. He had no reason to stop, and it was pretty obvious what he wanted to happen because he decided to stop (for no reason) right next to the car anyway.

He clearly saw the near side signal and then ran up the inside in to the blind spot and stopped.

Isn’t the gear shift lever on the left side of a bike?

Yeah, quoting the highway code, if every comment is saying you were in the wrong it perhaps time to accept the possibility you were in the wrong.

Also, I had a look and there is nothing in the Highway Code about bashing your fist down on a cars bonnet.

Worth the time to contribute to that video I think...

Strangely this van that actually nearly knocks him off is driven by a bloke, he’s nice as pie to him. Odd that don’t you think?

I’m a biker of 36 years experience and this is the comment I just posted below his video:

‘You put yourself in harm’s way there. You could clearly see her indicating to pull into the left lane before you passed her on the inside and you deliberately stuck yourself in the way to stop her changing lanes, even though you had also ridden along in the right turn only lane despite meaning to go straight on. It wasn’t great driving from her but the situation was easily avoidable.

I could tell you were a knob right from the start of the clip just looking at the ridiculous angle of your mirrors!

I think some advanced training and anger management classes might be in order.’

It’s amazing how many of these kn*bs post up a video supposedly highlighting the faults of others only to be torn to shreds by most people viewing it.
