Better quality car too.
in what way? Have you ever even driven a Lexus of any type? They are far more reliable than any BMW and build quality on BMWs is over rated at best. This 'better quality car' is nothing but an illusion, the same as some other idiot was on about poor 'spec' on a Lexus, on the contrary I would say its BMWs have poor 'spec' unless you further drain your finances on upgrades.

And I happen to own an e92 M3 and an ISF. So I guess I can judge pretty well This 'better quality car' is nothing but an illusion, the same as some other idiot was on about poor 'spec' on a Lexus, on the contrary I would say its BMWs have poor 'spec' unless you further drain your finances on upgrades.

Just out of interest, why would you own both of these? They’re so similar - if it was me, I’d have something different.
Possibly an odd thing to say given their perceived differences, but I let ours go because I felt it was too similar to my Evo to justify keeping both. Given the similarities ( both 4 door, big boot, poor fuel consumption and the way they could both get down an entertaining road ), one had to go, and at the time, I couldn't contemplate selling the Evo. I still can't, but I very much regret sacrificing the IS-F.mrfunex said:

Sometimes I sit and ask myself that.Realistic answer, I was looking for a hot hatch then the ISF came up at a good price, and it's a car I've always wanted to own.

I was replying to Jamoor - an E92 M3 and ISF are fairly similar, wouldn’t you agree?Anyway - he’s answered now...
Just to add to the debate that I have never owned an M3 or other high performance German marques although have owned BMW/MB vehicles but have owned two ISFs, first one (09)had 100k on the clock when I bought it and was sold with 120k - needed a new battery and a rear shock and had the water pump done under warranty, the water pump is one of had few weak points/issues. - sold it for a bit more than I paid for it, nothing else went wrong with it.
Second one (08)had about 85k on the clock at purchase and 95k when sold, did not have anything spent on it whatsoever, it had already had a new water pump on it when i purchased it. I lost about £1000 on it when I part exchanged it for a 60 plate 911S, probably could have got back what I paid for it if I had gone down a private sale route.
I never found it under powered even at low revs, to me they drive and sound lovely and whilst I am no driving God I appreciate speed owning various sports bikes (Fireblades etc) and it didn't feel any slower than my 911 albeit the steering and handling of the 911 obviously feels different. I didn't even find the ride too hard and I have been driving LS400 for 15 years so I know what a soft ride is. The Lexus dealers in my experience are superb, way better than what I get from Porsche and much better than what I have had from BMW/MB previously and there is a real honesty about the ISF and the confidence in the reliability stakes mean a lot to me. As others have said, you can buy one and expect little to go wrong with it, you have relative anonymity which I like although others may not and I am pretty sure I will buy another one in the not too distant future and if it's not an ISF then it will be a RCF or GSF. They will not be for everyone but for me they are a very pleasurable and stress free ownership proposition.
