Yeah London to Cape Town would be a massive challenge, especially in 10 days. Even in 20 days it would be a big ask.
Santiago to Anchorage would be amazing too, but I don't think you could do it direct due to border issues. Probably have to skip the Gulf of Mexico.
I would also throw in Brisbane to Perth (would be very boring though), in <5 days would be a nice challenge.
Ben here, that guy who drove a TVR 27,000 miles to a crap bar in Patagonia...Santiago to Anchorage would be amazing too, but I don't think you could do it direct due to border issues. Probably have to skip the Gulf of Mexico.

My whole trip cost slightly more than the target being discussed here, and the total was raised through sponsorship, selling media coverage, savings, selling the Corvette I'd previously driven to Vietnam, renting out my home, and a small loan which helped out when the trip overran, and which I'm currently paying back. It took several years of hard work to create a financial situation where I could undertake the trip, and I take the attitude that if I can do it, anyone can. So, for someone in a considerably stronger financial situation than me, and with a much more visible public profile and valuable assets which they could sell, to expect it on a plate through crowdfunding then soak up the advertising & YouTube revenue during and afterwards seems a little cheeky... but then as I don't really follow the YouTube crowd, I may not know the full facts.
Regarding the above suggestions - I did UK to Cape Town in a Porsche 944 a few years back, and it's certainly the toughest of the 'classical' overlanding routes. I took 60 days to cover 13,500 miles and even this felt too fast. This could be something to do with the 27 breakdowns we suffered though...
The Pan-American Highway is another popular challenge. Road conditions aren't too bad but it's one hell of a long way from the bottom of South America to the top of Alaska. The only bit which can't be driven is a few hundred miles across the Darien Gap, which people solve by shipping their cars round, between Colombia and Panama. We drove the majority of the Panamerican on Pub2Pub; I still have to go back and complete the San Francisco to Alaska section one day though...

Off to follow your adventures on iG.
I'm following too, didn't know you had a page! https://www.instagram.com/pub2pub_ben/
Prior to Sam's announcement I have also been working on plans to take one of my own cars to 3 other continents during 2019. It'll be interesting to see what the impact of us both doing it is!

He's said on Twitter the road trip will cost £150,000 and he's only got his begging bowl out for a fraction of it. Surely he could do it for a lot less than that?
Yeah, but first class flights and penthouse suites aren't cheap.Shmee said:

Are you Sam's dad? He’s no toff
Thanks, I think!
And John, no I’m not, but I could be if you’ve seen two two of us together
I’m not a huge fan of his KS idea either, but this thread was going quite well without us getting hung up on every other post being about slagging it off.
