Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc? (Vol 2)

Some, not all, are on a paid for loan basis with clearly defined limitations on mileage usage and a set expectation as to publicity. On a subset of these the V5 does not reference the individual who claims “ I have bought a XXX”.
That’s semantics though isn’t it? I lease my main car, but I (as everyone does) say I own a vRS. I think it’s fair to say that if you’re paying for it, you’re entitled to say ‘I’ve bought an xxx’. Long term loans etc are a different matter.
Because currently your posts are the equivalent of that middle aged needy woman on Facebook who posts stuff like “God sometimes I can’t take any more” just so ten people ask if she’s okay.
Or a 5yr old running around the playground shouting “I know something you do know, ner ner ne ner ner”

I don’t think I can be much clearer so there’s no “ner ner ner”.
I have zero interest in “ are you ok hun ?” As once again I have already clearly laid it out.
But just for you I will do so again.
There are some You Tubers out there who are basically acting as fronts for dealers to secure cars. The deposits are provided and the cars are run on preferential short term lease arrangements before resale. I would class these channels as lifestyle biased as opposed to motoring biased. ***
I am confident of the validity of this given the people who shared it with me including a well known social media figure and an established super car dealer. You can either choose to believe it or not.
I have a degree of admiration for the individuals’ ability to make it happen and then leverage the position to commercial gain. I don’t, and have been clear about this repeatedly, agree with the illusions it creates which draw in the gullible and ill informed but then to an extent that’s how YT and social media works of course,
I don’t know why this position causes you such umbrage and you really don’t have to make things personal but given you keep doing so it’s no surprise you have riled folk and already had a ban from this thread.
- * edited to add - in addition to securing new cars sourced from manufacturers said dealers are also happy to provide low depreciating cars on very low mileage short term preferential funding arrangements in return for the publicity generated, apparently under such arrangements an additional owner is not always recorded via the DVLA.

Perhaps I’ve missed the discussion here, but it would appear Anthony from GasKings has himself 5yrs in prison. That’s the latest I’ve seen anyway, after initial reports of his arrest a few weeks back.

What's interesting is that Ian from GasKings has just started posting again on Instagram. He's saying he ran GasKings since the beginning and that Lucille (the GT-R) has always been in his name. Will be interesting to see where it goes now as I know Ian had some very different ideas of where the content should go to Anthony.http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2018-04-21/two-ja...

Related to that video it is good to see STG returning his F360 back to standard.
Subjective I know, but I wish he'd lose those stock alloys for either the CS or some period aftermarket alloys. The stock ones are just too small to my eye. Some stickier rubber would also be a good move. Finally have a CS exhaust made, fit carbon ceramic brake pads and continue using it as he has been. I applaud him for racking up the miles and really enjoying his childhood poster car! I enjoy his enthusiasm for the marque but enjoy the enthusiasm for his own car even more. Shmee said:
I firmly believe that because they approached the topic with such an attitude, they massively exacerbated the situation and fueled the fire rather than diplomatically resolving it.
They probably felt they (incorrectly IMHO) had to over-react massively to get the point across. In previous years the Top Marques show has just attracted a lot of idiots. The pressure to clamp down will have come from various influential residents who demand peace and quiet whilst quaffing champers with their caviar.Sadly, taking you at your word, I'm sure a lot of "innocent" people got caught up in the net too as it was cast too far and too wide.
We have a flat behind Harrods and although I love the sound of a Ferrari V12 redlining at midnight, many do not (I wish my neighbour would sort out his 456, it breaks my heart to see it sitting in the square unloved!) Police took a similar stance here with the Harrods Grand Prix set.
Keep up the good work chap. I'm impressed with the variety and content of your videos that seems to be head and shoulders above other vloggers (first time I've ever written that word). "The look at my car, what car next, shall I buy this car" brigade have little to offer in comparison.
