Enjoyed this. Haven't been too keen on Sid but this has changed my mind!

I wish I'd remembered this question back when you asked, but I'm pretty sure Sid was the reason Alpina stopped lending cars for videos. Joe Achilies used to get them ALL the time and seemed like he had a good relationship with the brand and then it stopped. Wish I'd remembered so you could have asked him when talking similar happening with Fiat!

Also, don't know if it's been pointed out to you before but sometimes the guests mic volume seems a little bit low compared with the hosts.

I would like to know how a guy doing amazon deliveries and man and van removals can afford a GT4, a Clubsport S and a Fiesta ST but that obviously wasn't going to be answered!

Thanks both.

I think you’re right about Alpina, though it forced them to reassess and now they’re just a bit more selective. I had their B5 BiTurbo recently so can’t be too selective though hehe

The guest volume thing is tricky, we do try to get them to lean in as we do but sometimes it’s hard. Sid is also very softly spoken.

He did actually cover the cost aspect in a roundabout way. Money from the CBBC work got him the cars pretty much, but now he’s just grafting to make some cash while YT grows. I’ve got a lot of respect for that. He’s only 22 as well.

Which is funny as sitting there with Sid and Patrick (behind the lens and was in a previous podcast) it occurred to me that I’m the same age as them combined rofl

Alpina lent a car to "SIDEWAYS sid", Sid posted images and videos of it going sideways on the public road, Alpina lost the plot.

I was meant to have the car after Sid via CT, it went from a normal loan to "you can come up to the factory and drive it a bit with someone in the passenger seat.

I'm not sure who in their press department lent it to sid, but they must have known it was going sideways.

Every issue and video from Evo for the last 15 years has had cars going sideways on public roads? Chris Harris is unable to drive in a straight line anywhere within Wales. What's the difference?

Just last week he posted a comment about how much he hates Mclaren on a random post and it triggered a well known P1/Senna owner on IG. It was hilarious when this owner posted the comment on his IG story and confronted TGE. TGE had to back off and I believe delete his comments.

The day he gets rid of the SV he'll bash it and call it a waste of money and the worst car he owned. Maybe he doesn't check the classifieds but they are dropping in value and not sure how much demand they'll be for them when the boatload of SVJs start getting listed.

After all the chat about MrJWW's videos recently, I just watched his latest one about the guy collecting all four Vanquish Zagato models and really enjoyed it. I love the Zagatos anyway, but to see them all and to get the chat and walkthrough with the design director was really interesting. Especially the bit about them not having a bumper split line, the geek in me loved that.

(though it did irritate me a little the way he kept calling him 'mate')

I keep seeing Twitter posts from 'The Gentleman Racer'. Is he a vlogger / social media type or purely a paid-for influencer?

His posts normally consist of highly filtered photos with him looking away from the camera.

Tom Howard. Not really sure how he suddenly appeared out of nowhere and is now 'a thing' but he's got Rolls press cars, on all the big press trips, certainly getting lots of coverage. Seems like a non-vloggy MrJWW to me.

Sounds like a load of marketing BS to me, and a bit too much like the resume for an Apprentice candidate. Typical millennial tosh IMO.

How many times did he say ethos! In fact I’m gonna watch it and count

The website is nice and talks a good talk, but the YT channel has less than 2k subs and his instagram is sub 400 followers.

He must be well connected otherwise I don't understand how people get these cars.

ETA: He's done stuff with DriveTribe, so that makes sense.

Looks like he's a well-connected marketing / advertising company.

Well i,m not surprised he dislikes Mclaren. You buy there latest model as it comes out 720S, when you want to sell it you offer it back to the dealer who is no longer interested in buying it back or helping and i,m sure he wasn't looking for what he paid either. Bad form Mclaren and not at all unique check out the Mclaren forum.
Never heard him moan about the Lambo, and very much doubt he will.

As Chairman he also seems to have given himself a non-exec position in the organisation.

My issue with Mclaren is how many editions of the same car, see I would have been well peeved off buying a 675lt thinking it was rare then they announce a 688hs and to me that kicks ppl in the teeth

Look at how many special editions of the 720 there has been and shortly will be the 7xx LT and LT spider! And then will they rattle off another higher spec ltd edition?

I’m not a massive Ferrari fan but st least they don’t do various ltd editions of the same car it’s simple

488
488 pista

F12
F12 tdf

I am starting to warm to Ferrari more tbh

Remind me what special editions of the 720 there have been? There have been some MSO painted cars, that’s it.

Paul/supercars of london is getting quite a number of unhappy comments. And I do wonder in how he will be able to catch up as I do not think his next car will be able to bring his channel back to its glory days.
Maybe he should have waited longer before buying the lp640.

There’s the GT3, which is a GT3 spec racecar.

The Spider is the roof off variant, same as a 488 Spider.

Luxury & Performance are trim levels / equipment groupings, not special editions.

What special editions am I missing?
