Talking of the ring we’re planning a trip next year and I see ppl stay in houses close by that seem fairly suited to rocking up with some mates,

Anyone got a link

I find it interesting how he just can't seem to make his quality content get views but the bad content racks up the views (check his latest IG story of him admitting it).

He said he did a great track video with the new Alpine and it gets no views, but diamonds in a random girls Lambo gets 1m views.

He doesn't try to disguise he's in this for money and cashes in at every opportunity.

For what it's worth I've exchanged a few emails with Tom about someone separate to cars and he is super nice and down to earth.

I think the language he uses is simply to keep his content entertaining.

If you want a more ‘raw’ experience of one of Tim’s laps have a look at Mischa’s video... https://youtu.be/_nDu5Xn9hWc

Wow. That thing absolutely rips. First person in the world to take a customer spec Senna round the ring, and probably only ever be one of the few who would do it on TF. That film does give a very real view of what that must have felt like. And it sounds like the car had more to give!

He managed to give it some there. How long till the safety police roll in about misha recording on his mobile?
Decent 6/10ths lap, that. Having a good reference guide in that 488 Pista helps a lot too. The amount of traffic on those sessions would make it rather unnerving and stressful to say the least

Great action but very irresponsible on a public day. Put quite a few other drivers at risk at times.

Thanks! As you can imagine it was an awful lot of fun despite a hiccup in the middle that needed resolving (as mentioned with the sensor on the Senna); but driving the two cars together was quite a moment.
You've previously said you'd not take the 675LT around the 'ring because of the value - wondering if you'll give that a go now Tim, since it's *only* a 250k motor <boggles> compared to the Senna/GT.

It's quite funny. Everyone complaining about people speeding on the roads and to go to a track so people take it to the track and now people are complaining they're driving too fast for on a track.

Watched this last night when it randomly showed up on my suggested videos. Incredible video with two amazing cars battling it out.
Some great skill displayed, at one point I thought he was going to rear end the Lambo, others on the track just need to get out of the way... amazing to see these cars close to their limits..

Serious speed for TF but its a great watch
3:25 - new underwear needed laugh
great to see both cars being used and not stuck under dust sheets as investments but that driving is far to aggressive for a TF, all it would take is a talentless nub like me to do something unpredictable and they would have been in a massive accident

That's part of the appeal of trackdays. You get complete amateurs alongside seasoned pros, often in race cars. The number of times I've been on the 'Ring or even Croft and you've had a race-team dialling the car in alongside young lads in Citroen AXs or similar. It's just at the 'Ring you normally get bikes too!

That driving really isn't all that aggressive, even for a TF day.

7.30 BTG with heavy traffic on TF is pretty aggressive by any measure...you must be a driving God on the Ring to think otherwise...it was a white knuckle ride to watch but the closing speeds are insane one unexpected move by one of the slower cars and it's a massive accident they didn't leave any real margin for that

Not a driving God by any stretch, but I still maintain if you find a sub-8min BTG aggressive then you probably haven't spent all that much time there. There are people smashing times like that out on a daily basis, in much less glamorous cars.

Fastest laps I've seen on YouTube have been from trackdays with light traffic time just over 7mins BTG the guys above wouldn't have been far off that with a clear run...I'm no expert having done less than 100 laps there since my first visit 5 yrs ago but I'd maintain 7 mins BTG in no traffic or 7.30 in heavy traffic is pretty quick for amateur drivers.

It's definitely an impressive run, but I don't think there's anything in it that is "too" aggressive. The guys clearly know their limits and are comfortable at that pace.

I think the battle between those 2 cars is great, picking what seems to be one of the busiest TF days of the year may not seem like the greatest idea but it's all legal. A few sections of the lambo kicking up dirt might be showing that perhaps they pushing a little too hard for my liking, I'd much prefer a track day. I wouldn't have done the same and just watching it made me feel sweaty palmed but they clearly know the track and have the skill to pull it off.

There was the classic E36 battle in 2017 (?) where they were posting times as low as 7.20 during TF, this was when the Ring reinforced the no timing rules as they took a dim view of it. I saw last night that Danny has done a 7:58 in his MRS during a track day, I'm guessing that's BTG?

I would love to go to the Ring one day but I would prefer a track day over TF, although would give TF a try for a lap or 2 after maybe getting some instruction at a track day first.

As for the Senna lap, Shmee I salute you. I've watched that video more than once, it's flying on Misha's channel. Taking both the Senna and the GT out during TF on the busiest days of the year takes some balls. It might be a 6/10ths type of lap but that's still a hell of a lot faster than most stuff at 10/10ths. Very interesting (and predictable) that the Senna could quite easily munch the Pista.

What's with Tom (and his sheep mates) on Instagram always spouting utter tragic words like lad, chaos and now rig?

I don't know how it happens but they always appear on my search part of Instagram.
It's like they are just taking the piss betting each other which new word they can make their followers start saying but surely they aren't being serious?

Everything's chaos, lad and now rig (I have no idea what that actually means?)

He's clearly a bright person and I'm sure he doesn't say any of those words when speaking to normal people so what is it?
It's just tongue-in-cheek laugh

'Rig' in this context means a muscular / toned physique, I think it started when Tom, Archie and Tony were taking the piss out of each other and their gym antics (or lack of, as Tony admits, but he 'has the most money')

JE posts it on his Insta all the time, it is just a bit of fun, he's in top shape though.. Me and a colleague keep saying it so I guess it does catch on, neither of us are body builders though, it's just a bit of a laugh..

Likewise, I've spoken to Tom and JE briefly a couple of times and they always come across sound blokes. People can take or leave their content but they're just enjoying the fruits of their labour, however they come about the cars etc, they've definitely both worked for it, and Tom especially is playing this social media / influencer / YouTube game to his advantage, which he fully admits as you say. I'd rather that than the sort of people that hide behind their wealth or try to claim success that isn't really their own.

The recent JWW video with the guy from Coldplay's collection just showed the youtuber up as the most disinterested person. There he was, faced with massively historical metal and he had nothing to say, no questions to ask, not even much of an attempt to carry a conversation or even elicit any further details about the cars from their enthusiastic owner who you could tell just wanted to share the details and the stories...

The collection wasn't filled with new and shiny so this particular guy just wasn't interested. Such a wasted opportunity.

I was wondering where the Ginetta G12 was - it would have fitted right into that collection - but any hope of any such questioning was a pie dream.
