Yes, got soaked twice and felt bad about the car but it was fine! I was much more excited about driving the D2 S8 on the same day though (video out now although I can't link it)
The R8 Video was brilliant, I really enjoyed it. If Top Gear had videos like this, it would be in with a decent chance of survival. Keep up the good work.

Thanks

TBH I wanted to wait longer to put the video out, I've been doing so much Audi stuff recently but timing kinda conspired against me with the two R8 videos coming out.

My next few weeks of content are considerably more varied.

The S8 video was great... especially as I was just looking at one earlier: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1154334

I stumbled across this chap when he edited one of the Jon Olsson videos (one of view who I subscribe to). There was a rather odd transition when Olsson was recruiting a new editor and several videographers did there own edit of the weeks shoot and cars with Luke was one of them. His editing was fantastic (and as much as I hate to use YouTube terms, his B roll footage was great).

New Collecting Cars podcast without Chris Harris at the helm. Not a fan, didn’t hold my interest at all, this Sam guy just isn’t that interesting. I think they’re going to realise very quickly that Harris chatting with his mates is what made this podcast good and they’ll lose listeners rapidly if Harris is sidelined. I’d much rather one a month as they have been with excellent guests and banter than more often with that other bloke.

On the subject of podcasts, STG BTG DTW hehe latest podcast was quite good. Mentioned it’s only September and DTW has already cost over £100,000. Yikes.

I bailed on that podcast very quickly. I think because I'm not a big racing fan.

Also found the STG podcast interesting. Of course, we don't know the other important number regarding DTW, the income! I'm not saying he should disclose this, just saying it doesn't mean much in isolation.

Yup... soon as he said Chris is away... I lost all interest.

I know Mr Harris is occupied with TG ... but I really do think he could (if he wanted) become the 'Joe Rogan' of automotive podcasting, by that I mean being the main anchor interviewing interesting guests with some automotive angle.

I also sacked that podcast off after 5 minutes, the whole snooty rich boys racing classics at Goodwood thing doesn't interest me, without Chris Harris there I couldn't stomach it.

Journalists and racing drivers are fine, that's CH's world but it'd be nice if he could spread out a bit more, car designers, someone from a 80's group B team, someone involved in a BTCC during the Supertouring era, maybe an aftermarket tuner, etc.

As an example, I watched this video the other day, Paul from North Yorkshire RS Spares, he's the main man when it comes to RS500's and I thought it was fascinating.

Off topic, but The Autosport Podcast has recently had interviews with Rickard Rydell and Tim Harvey who both drove during the Super Touring era -

The F1: Beyond the Grid podcast is also worth a listen.

I think once it has a name for itself they'll find more guests to join them, it's fantastic with Harris.

Quite an insightful / honest video from Tim on the running / "parked-up-but-available-at-any-time" costs of the GT8, 675LT and Lusso - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqCtyM_8ZCc&t=...

£20k (approx) per year just to sit in the garage with extended warranties. I admire his dedication, but me being a tight northerner, that would pain me!
And he indicates the GT and Senna are in a whole other league in regards to cost....

'kin 'ell Tim - where did all go wrong for you?!

TGE’s latest video in ‘Marbs’ really is a new low in the world of the ‘influencer’.

Utterly embarrassing on so so many levels.

It was pretty cringe-inducing. And whoever that guy is the passenger seat looks the type to pay for sex.

Possibly the worst car-related YT video ever. An utter embarrassment, and the giggling attention we in the passenger seat was the cherry on the top of this particular st sandwich.
