Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc? (Vol 2)
Discussion
I used to do in depth walkarounds with all cars, but don't so much now unless it is something very special (the SZ didn't get one because of time issues) - the reason I stopped doing them was people kept complaining my early videos were too long, and ditching that segment shortened my videos on average by about six minutes

Hoovies Garage I find weirdly appealing but it does lack actual real content - I think he's just an easy watch on a late evening.
Starting to get a bit bored of it tbh.- Bought the cheapest <insert car> in the USA
- Here's all the things wrong with my <insert car
- Fixing my <insert car> (Car Wizard video)
- Why you should never ever buy a <insert car>
Repeat.

Well I enjoy your videos. Some vids on track would be welcome.
Thankyou. There are some track videos - the Mk1 TT showdown was quite fun to filmjayemm89 said:
I gotta say, Hubnut is cranking out videos right now - crazy amount of content coming from him! I do not know how he does it.
He put out in some video about him and Mrs HubNut going their separate ways, he's moving to New Zealand at some point, hence the rush to put out a lot of content. Updates on the Austin Princess and Ambassador, and a long jaunt from Derbyshire's dales to Wales in the CityRover.More interesting than the clickbait of SOL in his 48 hour tyre kicking trip to Dubai. He's going to drag the videos out as well... Still not convinced that importing a left hand drive car from Dubai, paying shipping costs, converting or preparing for UK use is cheaper than buying a supercar in the UK

Watched hubnutz after reading lots of positive comments about the channel on here. I don't get I, what am I missing?
I'm not interested in supercars or the latest offerings. I am interested in older cars but I just can't find interest in the sort of ste anyone can pick up on Gumtree for £500 any day of the week.
I'm with you. Several months ago I watched a few of his videos and I didn't "get it". Part of my problem was trying not to imagine the whiff that would be evident whilst the videos were being filmed.I'm not interested in supercars or the latest offerings. With a jaunt to Dubai. To drag the content out a little more, him and a dozy friend are attempting to find a sub £100k Ferrari 458 or similar, pay import fees, ship it home and get it road legal (hopefully includes an MOT this time). They mooch around three showrooms in a 48 hour period, but this may be dragged out for a while like Brexit Negotiations i.e one show per week to get us wanting more
I wonder where all the money comes from, hiring a Hyundai i30N, an Aston Martin, a Honda bike, attempting repair on an aging Lamborghini... will everything come crashing down soon?
Can I ask, why do you care? If you don't like his stuff don't watch?https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UChaWtCeZaE&t=1s

Xmas when all the usual vloggers had there cars tucked up in there garages hubnut and the 2cv club were ragging it around the Yorkshire dales.
The 2cv meeting in Croatia he drove to , he rebuilt the engine the day before he left and then doesn't even bother with breakdown cover .
None of the usual suspects drive that far and the few who do like schmee , should anything happen they have the money to get themselves out of it .

I think Carwow do a good job with this bit (appreciate they have different resources etc.) but the way they have a separate video linked in their current one with more detail on X, Y, or Z has sometimes been really helpful/interesting. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. Loved the Alfa video this weekend!thecremeegg said:

I'm just keeping to the theme of this thread. We've all seen these YouTubers, some are more convincing than others, some content is interesting, some is desperate, some is clickbait and scam. It's just a curiosity as to how this content is released and where the funds are coming from for such grand endeavours. Whilst the UK and Europe totter on the edge of a recession, it seems unsustainable to be renting an Aston Martin and a Hyundai i30N, a Honda bike, a Lamborghini with the aim of adding even more cars to your 'garage' or collection? And to answer your question, I don't really care, but I will add an opinion like everyone else. There's 900 pages or so before this one questioning this type of content

I got bored about half way through and flipped to something else. The bloke in the pub you never want to get into a conversation with is a perfect description. Also, the whiff comment cracked me up as I hadn't even realised i'd been thinking the same until i read that. No harm to the guy, he seems a decent and very genuine guy but i'm afraid I just don't get it.
