Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc? (Vol 2)
Discussion
I found this guy's channel "Track Day" - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-9IhqrFTkc53Dx1H...
The guy is into cinematic style filming etc so he's got some great camera work. His channel is pretty small atm so not a big selection of cars but the content is good and it should grow.

Interesting video about the YouTube game and channel lifecycles.

Archie collected a Black SVR from Saxtons 4x4 after saying the last one he had he struggled to fill it up and was meant to be a public collection and nobody turned up
That literally sounds like the worst thing ever. I’ve had two band new cars (other than companies ones) and both times I was adamant that there was a little fuss as possible and certainly no ‘sheet of cringe’ as another PHer referred to it as. I just wanted to check the cars out in peace, sign the paperwork and ps off.

Oh come on. Surely there was a part of you that wanted that chipmunk music playing as the dealer pulled the dust sheet off the car and a crowd of 15yr old boys with cameraphones snapped away at you between their marathon wking sessions at their parents' house?
I can’t imagine anything worse. Some people seem to love this sort of stuff. I think it’s awful.

“Public collection”. Jesus Christ.Conveniently Tony from Gravelwood's taken the yellow Mercedes A35 AMG and 'driven it home'...

I wonder what Sam will do after DTW? From a view count/subscriber point of view it doesn't appear to be doing too well, even admitted it was disappointing in his last podcast. HubNut has got nearly half the views as Sams latest videos!
DTW comes across as a really good holiday for Sam and his partner. He's not driven the world, he's played his stops very safe, everything about it is just safe, and a bit boring from my point of view. Then while he's doing it, other people are creating their content, sometimes the same stuff, and the environment is very competitive. I think his channel will stall now a bit like Paul's as DTW was his opportunity to really grow his channel and for whatever reasons its not worked out.DjSki said:

‘sheet of cringe’
Brilliant!I wasn't amused when I turned up to collect and it was sat in the showroom under a bright red satin sheet.
It was like a waiter bringing out a plate covered by a silver dome, to arrive at your table and carefully reveal a lone fish finger.

Agreed. I'd more interesting watching Harry's drives down to Morocco or wherever. The most thrilling world tour I've witnessed was simply a photographer with his girlfriend, on bicycles. An amazing and real challenge. A thrilling read. Unfortunately his blog doesn't seem live any more, but it was about a decade ago or so, but his photographs are here: https://www.nicolasmarino.com/en/welcomeI don't really want to watch a Toff drive around parts of the US etc. I just got extremely bored. There's no content. I was never a big follower of all these videos anyway. I only saw Schmee when he had a car I wanted, and then they all seemed to be friends, STG, SOL etc, so i saw a few of their trips and discussions on cars, such as STG and his Ftype... but when people have a car for such a short time, I have nothing to learn from that. It's much more rewarding to follow someone's journey with a car.
I enjoy Jayemm as his manner is genuine and he always has something new to say, so I learn something from watching his vids. They are nicely shot, but I mostly prefer the raw, older stuff as it's so authentic. Like when a take is a tiny bit too long and the presenter just stares at you. But that's my sense of humour and why I like David Lynch's work. Also, Jayemm, please do not include the perfectly described "chipmunk music" in your videos. And don't start leasing cars out of your arse. The Evora was cool, the E92 is cool, just talking about what you have is cool, not renting something for a month and wrapping, doing exhaust, etc then onto the next.
Shinjuku, no worries about me starting to lease a merry go round of cars. I've just bought some ITBs for my S2000!
I spotted Harry at the NEC Classic show yesterday with his Countach, would have chatted to him but he was pretty busy and I had stuff to do unfortunately - amazing show though, ridiculous selection of cars.
