Also persuaded me to put Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports on my 4C, despite minimal reviews/information elsewhere
How are you finding them? As you say, there's very few user reviews online at the minute

Or even media/publications (comparison-wise at least. There's plenty of marketing gump in Evo etc). I suppose they'll only appear when next years summer tests roll around, as yours was relatively late in the season.

Only about 500 miles in but so far so good but not yet gotten them on track which is what leaned me towards them. PS4S weren't available for the 18 fronts so there was only the option of F1SS all round or F/R PS4/PS4S mix.

I look forward to a direct SuperSport R vs Cup 2 comparison.

Sam's big error with DTW as I said right back at the beginning is that he should have included his Mrs in it. I understand that she probably doesn't want to be on the channel (she's got her own I seem to recall?) But having some banter and someone to bounce off plus making the series feel like a journey it would have had a totally different feel. There's no sense of the content been any kind of larger project its like totally separate content that could have been filmed by hopping on a plane and then coming home. Also it would have been very hard to do as YT does seem to be a treadmill for them but it would have been better to release the content in bingeable chunks so like the Australia series comes out as season 1. Might have made it more cohesive.
I'm not so sure if his Mrs being included would have made much difference, but then again Sam always did seem at his best when he did have someone to bounce off. Unfortunately we've also seen what the YouTube comment section can be like when there's a female on screen...

I think the biggest issue is that the 911 doesn't really feature that much, or at least it doesn't feel like it's a big part of the journey. With HubNut and Shmee, it's the cars they're driving (the BX [for now] and the GT) that really link the journey together.

Having said that, the people who backed the trip on Kickstarter could be the ones getting more of the actual roadtrip content. But if that's the case I think it may have turn a lot of the 'free' viewers watching on YouTube.

This is a big annoyance with the PS4/PS4S

When the supersports on the wife's M135i died 6m ago (standard 18's) it was a big annoyance we could only get the PS4's - they're lasting very well but seem to break traction far too easily (relative) and don't seem as confidence inspiring/grippy when pushing on

You're the only person I've ever heard say that re: PS4's...

In typical UK conditions PS4's are far superior in comparison to PSS, on the odd bone dry 18+ degrees day, then yes the PSS are marginally better...

No-one talking about Carfection?
Superb viewing.

Luke, STG, Jayemm, SOUP, Harry all excellent products too, something about them that makes them and their content more 'accessible'

JWW and Shmee, going off the boil for me...

Agree with the above, although I must admit I tend to skim watch almost every subscription nowadays, unless it is something I'm very specifically interested in and recorded to a high standard...

One thing lacking when watching JayEmm's videos for me is the lack of exterior shots/drive bys - As good looking as you are Jay, sometimes the cars are slightly better looking hehe

Did a healthy cull last week - so much boring content now from previously interesting channels. Too much repetitive walk-around-a-car on stuff that’s unobtainable and unrelatable that we’ve seen 10+ times before.

STG culled despite being likeable, DTW is a farce - barely anything about the adventure of driving the world and mostly just a big meet and greet holiday tour. There are better people to watch for that.

SOL survives because likeable, and genuine - though content struggling (albeit bike content is cool). His time is almost up though.

Shmee - only so many garage tours and car collections the world needs to see, particularly with endless false enthusiasm. content seems out of ideas - used to enjoy in years past. culled.

JWW also starting to dry up - though did watch the carl hartley chat so he survives, just. also does anyone care about NVN?!

Archie, LLF, seb - clogging up feed for way too long, no idea why they're even subscribed. culled.

JayEmm - likeable, well researched, interesting (relatable) cars too. Shame about the BBC/Alan Whicker/Clarkson Island presentation style that makes it a little formal but perhaps a product of cameraman background. a keeper.

Tentatively subscribed to Sid too, liked his last few vids on c63 (plus i want a c63 again..)

Harry’s*, TheCarGuys, Carfection,Carwow,Evo,PH,Smith&Sniff,44teeth,Joe,collecting cars podcast all still solid.

James May’s 70’s sandwich videos (Food Tribe) mildly amusing too.

Exactly what I thought.....and ginger.
Come on, lets have your photos up chaps, for a constructive critique wink

Not sure why we feel the need to make such comments, I am sure the chap is aware he doesn't have an American news Anchor smile and ginger hair, it isn't Next Top Model he is on, its about his motor which was pretty impressive considering it is FWD, it looked really, really quick.

Where i will comment is LLF is very good at giving himself and his guest the opportunity to record potential evidence to YouTube for future analysis by the Police, not that I want to see him get done, he just needs to realise this and calm down a bit before it happens, or worse.

It's one thing I am constantly working on. I used to do a long exterior walkaround of every car, but the comments section was full of people complaining the videos were too long. Ditching that shortened my videos by an average of six minutes. I do still do them on occasion, particularly if the car is unusual (eg. Venturi, XJ220) or I have the time - which is sadly rare now. However I am looking at doing more exterior shots to lay over the top of videos.

Drive bys are by far the hardest bit of a YT video to do. You need to find a suitable piece of road (NSL, quiet) which you can turn a car around easily, and then try to get enough shots which look different, but without traffic. Getting drive bys can take longer than the rest of the video combined.

The majority of the time these days it is just me, on my own - I don't have the full crew many others do, so when I've got the bonus of a cameraman I'll put them to use, but sadly for the most part I am doing what I can.

Some of the larger shows can have production crews in double digits, so the fact I am even being compared with them makes me very happy indeed. I also edit the overwhelming majority of my videos myself, and this year will have produced something like 170 pieces of original content.

If you also consider I have six cameras rolling simultaneously, versus the average YouTuber who's running about two, you'll get a rough idea of the logistical issues I face. I don't mind it - they improve the videos - but there is a huge amount of stuff I do with my videos that I know nobody ever notices, but improves the product.

Also, I had to look up Alan Whicker after he got mentioned a few times in the comments. Better than James Corden.

My lunchtime viewing, two slightly odd blokes repurposing an 80's Ford Cargo mobile library into a car transporter,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUww3BM2G2E

Its strangely compelling, complete antithesis to the Supercar stuff.

I can appreciate the fact it can make your videos longer and I too would be put off by this. But as you mentioned, overlaying more exterior/drive-bys whilst talking would be a good thing IMO.

I can also appreciate that it is just you, by no means would I expect carfection level productions! Keep up the good work anyway, you're doing far better than I could ever achieve hehe
