One issue that I have with youtube content (and also professional content, but to a slightly lesser degree) is that they never st on a car. Every car is awesome. Every car is amazing. I understand these are meant to be aspirational lifestyle channels and not reviews but it would be nice to get some honesty and candour sometimes - "this supercar is nice but the soundtrack is ste compared to this other supercar, but the steering is way better. Not numb like that other car."

I understand they all rely on manufacturer goodwill, but it irks me, and there are only a few channels (mostly professionals who are big enough that they have clout) that will provide some level of objectivity.
Really?

I must admit I felt sorry for Archie on his latest video (Tesla being picked up by Dean ‘not any more at’ Redline).

Decent and fairly informative video until that chimp from LDNM muscle or whatever started acting the prat. You could see Archie playing along but cringing inside trying to do some more serious content. Archie if you’re reading this, try and distance yourself from those knobbers.

Ha - she's a legend!

Hello and good job if you're reading! (unlikely?!)
Awwwwww thanks!!!! I am reading ??. Somebody sent me a DM to the thread via Instagram and I was worried about reading it and you’ve all been so kind. Thank you. Means an awful lot x
Welcome and don’t let keyboard warriors get to you. You’re doing something that you enjoy, it’s different and all the better for it. You have also reminded me that I must make it to The Festival of the Unexceptional next year.

Just tried watching that and Christ that guy gets annoying! Gave up after a while. A shame when someone makes a video unwatchable when acting like a prat.

Did watch this one the other day though.

Christ that was painful.

However, just gave SOL "another chance" and he seems extremely genuinely nice (therefore fine to watch) and this is a good video: https://youtu.be/Tce96U-AM3M?t=50

Agreed, I have no idea what has happened to JE, he used to be the hard-working done well for himself guy in the background of the Monaco videos with his 488. Now he acts like a complete arshole.

People wonder why people love TGE so much and watch his crap, it's because it didn't used to be crap and now it's just a habit watching him.

Here's the first video TGE ever significantly featured in from the car vlogger group, he's a much more endearing character.:

Wow - he acted like a normal person there. JWW was much easier to watch in the beginning too and his latest lambo video was a bit of the old.

Yep, same humour and genuine excitement when he got his F12:

I think his passion for it has completely worn off now which is why the content is what it is today.

Buying cars for some has become such a formality, perhaps they feel the need to play up to the cameras on the day of buying the car, be it turning up in convoy, the unveiling etc... Archie's video was good before JE started chatting rubbish, but still I don't get the over the top excitement to see a mate buy a car. Sid North (Sideways Sid) cut out all this BS when he bought a BMW M5,
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Djf1jy0Cpw
and just used it for every day stuff, and errands which was refreshing in these days of churn and clickbait wink

He's not traditional YouTuber, but I've quite enjoyed James May's new car reveals on DriveTribe - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzDzv4NVlfE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Ovn4REO2w

There's a good bit of sarcasm of the format, especially the first 15 seconds of the first video. There's also the slightly annoying squeaky electronic music, which I assume isn't an accident either. He's been learning from the best!

They're genuinely quite interesting though, IMO. He's bought himself an battery electric and a hydrogen fuel cell powered car to basically see what they're like. I'm also rather jealous of the size of what I assume to be his garage.

Love James May too, I think it also proves that YouTube isn't just for young kids to post content on, it just so happens that young kids happen to post on it.

Anyone seen 'Big Car'? Not a vlogger as such, but a sort of visual-wikipedia of how various cars came about.

As someone who spent a lot of time perusing aronline.co.uk I find a lot the videos very interesting.
