I wonder if Tim is planning a Senna collection video to drop on Christmas Day as a present to the audience?

There's a lot of bad uploads but the worst for me has to be his review of the SVJ, you get an invite from Lambo but you totally forget to do a general overview of the car and show the exterior of the car your driving.
Now I haven't even seen the video in question, but I thought I'd mention something from the other side of the fence. Obviously my persepctive will be different to JWW/Shmee etc as I am a tiny fish in the pond, but...

Many manufacturer events are still geared up for traditional journalism. Eg. Here's a car. Drive it NOW. Write your piece on the plane back. It is possible, and I know some manufacturers can be very strict with the time in a car, that what you saw was literally all he had time to film. Maybe he just didn't bother, but all the press things I have been on the needs of YouTubers are seldom realised. Some are much better at this than others, I will say. My favourite is when they just give us a car and let us get on with it

Honestly, although they know I'd love to film such a thing, I'm not sure when it will be finished because there's a lot to be done still before it's officially time for handover. There's also the small factor of the GT that should be arriving at some point in the next week as well!

Ha, I'm glad somebody liked it!

I don't know the specifics either but for my rotation (and it does vary from day to day) we had the entire day based at the track with only a few lap sessions and no road drive so time was a-plenty. I know JWW was there on a different day to me and it may well have been different but as you say these events normally have a fixed road route that takes almost all of the available time and then they provide you with b-roll - whereas you really just want to shoot your own stuff but then don't have time to complete it!

Does JWW read this thread? Wonder if he cares what the posters think, but I haven't seen one positive comment about his videos yet.. Surely this must be worrying for him.
I doubt he's bothered, he's probably making a mint! Like I said it's a shame, it seems that his ego has taken over and it's now all "look at me", whereas before he managed to avoid portraying himself that way.

Anyone watched any of "Cleetus McFarland's" youtube videos? I stumbled across him tonight; he has over 1m subscribers. His recent Corvette videos are worth a look; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4aT8aF50A0

Just to add some balance to the discussion, I like watching MrJWW videos. They quite deliberately take a slightly different slant on the supercar scene and that adds to the interest. What it doesn't try and do is just copy what other Youtube channels are doing, which would be a bit dull in my opinion. I watch a range of the YouTube motoring channels and the good thing is many have their own particular character and they are not all the same.
What does seem to be a recurring issue that a number of the Youtubers have made is that their audience of regular viewers can be quite a niche group that watch to see a very specific car or type of content. If they sell that specific car or deviate from their usual content formula then they get hammered in the comments or viewing figures. This is sort of demonstarted in the discussion in this thread. It seems that the way Youtube is set up it stiffles variety and creativity in any one channel's content which needs to stay the same, but then risks some viewers getting bored and moving on. Unless you have a very strong viewer base the only way round this seems to be to set up another channel from scratch.

I have been watching him for a while. Good content and I love the craziness of some of their antics.
Maybe not to everyones taste but he does not annoy me unlike many other YouTubers .

I used to think his videos were brilliant if I’m honest the quality was better than anything else BUT it’s just started wearing a bit thin with me personally! His over use of the word ethos I find particularly grating I think I once counted that he had said it about 15 times in one video!

I think when tge called him out as well showed a lot as obviously it’s talked about on here how it’s all paid for and yeah his family have a clothing factory and if he is trying to pass off his dads cars as his own it’s a little sad (don’t know if that’s true) but his whole channel just irritates me now so I’ve unsubscribed and also from his insta! On the other hand I’d gone off shmee but I quite like watching tims videos and he’s stepped up his content quite a lot in terms of quality and explanation I liked his latest 3 series vid for example (I haven’t heard anyone explain about that sensor on the dash apart from Tim so I wondered what that was) I don’t bother with sol either I just tend to watch seen through glass and shmee I also like mat Watson

Cleetus is one of my favorites, along with Hoonigan.

Carfection & Petrolicious for really well shot automotive stuff & Shmee as you know the content and Tim gets to see and drive some amazing cars!

Hardly watch JWW anymore either.

A bit too nicey, nicey and trying to be everyone's best mate all the time "I just want to take you guys along for the ride and immerse you in the experience'.

I also don't like the way he constantly dribbles about Dubai which as recent news events have shown isn't a very nice regime once you scratch below the surface.

On a more general point its a shame more car youtubers don't follow Jon Olssen's recent announcement that he's no longer producing 3 vlogs a week come what may as he acknowledged that many times he was just filming random, uninteresting stuff just to get a vlog out. I appreciate that he isn't as reliant on youtube revenue as others given his Douchebags and clothing business but its a good move on his part to just make vids when there's something interesting happening.

So SOL posted a picture of Rana's friend taking delivery of his SVJ and TGE comes along and creates chaos by posting this in the comment section...

"Looks good but worse than an SV imo. Sure it drives ‘better’ though. Can’t wait for mine anyway. You’ll be able to trade murci in for one as it’ll be a £500k car soon lad"

No idea why this guy is so angry when you own a SV, supposedly have a SVJ on order and a 812. It's one thing to post to get views and followers but it's another to be a troll. If you're reading this TGE, knock it off. I don't mind your content but seriously your shtick is getting old and annoying. You're making a boatload of enemies and it's only a matter of time before someone exposes you.

TGE thinks the SV is the best car in the planet. He’s incredibly defensive about it like in the video comparing the SV with Tonys Ferrari. Seen him posting comments about it on other people’s instagrams too.

If I end up on his Instagram stories. Hi mum!

Just last week he posted a comment about how much he hates Mclaren on a random post and it triggered a well known P1/Senna owner on IG. It was hilarious when this owner posted the comment on his IG story and confronted TGE. TGE had to back off and I believe delete his comments.

The day he gets rid of the SV he'll bash it and call it a waste of money and the worst car he owned. Maybe he doesn't check the classifieds but they are dropping in value and not sure how much demand they'll be for them when the boatload of SVJs start getting listed.

Enjoyed this. Haven't been too keen on Sid but this has changed my mind!

I wish I'd remembered this question back when you asked, but I'm pretty sure Sid was the reason Alpina stopped lending cars for videos. Joe Achilies used to get them ALL the time and seemed like he had a good relationship with the brand and then it stopped. Wish I'd remembered so you could have asked him when talking similar happening with Fiat!

Also, don't know if it's been pointed out to you before but sometimes the guests mic volume seems a little bit low compared with the hosts.

I would like to know how a guy doing amazon deliveries and man and van removals can afford a GT4, a Clubsport S and a Fiesta ST but that obviously wasn't going to be answered!

As mentioned many times by people on here and put very well by someone, that they 'don't want to bite the hand that feeds them'.

If you want honest reviews and someone that isn't pumped up on their own ego, watch savagegeese.

He gets lent cars by charities so he doesn't need to pander to car manufacturers to give a good review. Also always put the cars on the ramp so you can see underneath and explains what has changed vs previous generations etc...

Proper car stuff, not fancy scenic camera shots and cheesy music yum
