Supercars in London: PH Gallery

The 'Beast from the East' meets the best of the West End

The now infamous 'Beast from the East' brought much of the United Kingdom to a halt in late February and early March with severe weather warnings, blizzards and sub-zero temperatures. Driving conditions were treacherous, many couldn't or wouldn't go to work, and London became strangely peaceful - like the set of a cheesy Christmas film. We braved the elements to bring you a unique edition of Supercars spotted across our capital.

Many cars were stranded by the snow, but in some cases, owners were brave (or stupid) enough to bring their extremely expensive 600hp+ rear-wheel drive machines out on the slippery roads. Each to their own, but it certainly made for some cool photo opportunities!

When you spend every day around very special cars, you do become jaded, and the 'usual' stuff starts to be taken for granted. However, when everything is covered in snow all of that changes. Suddenly you want to take pictures of FFs and DB9s, because ultimately, they're incredible cars, and when the country stands still because of some frozen water you get the opportunity to step back and appreciate them for what they are.

Our highlights however, would have to include a McLaren 675LT, a Lamborghini Aventador SV with something rude drawn on the window, a Porsche 911 GT3RS and GT3 in Miami Blue, and slightly out of town an epic little Renault 5 Turbo! On the days between the bad weather we also snapped the likes of the Bugatti Chiron, Veyron, Porche Carrera GT, Singer 'Qatar commission', and a quite outrageous Mansory Siracusa 4XX based on the Ferrari 488.

Normal service will be resumed at the end of the month when we bring you the top supercar spots from April. Spring has sprung, and with it more and more supercars are appearing on the streets of our capital, so make sure to check back for that!

There's an opportunity for somebody to take the p*** on the topic of ludicrously-priced supercars littered about the capital.

Like maybe a series of very large canvases, each of which features a side view of a supercar. These are rolled about the city at night and "installed" on streets and pavements.

Someone spends too much time loitering around Mayfair. The Bat guy had a green AMG GTR for a while that was quite exciting . Running Footman!

The Singer, Chiron and GT3 RS all have Guernsey numberplates? ie just numbers

You need this type of kit with a 35mph speed limit!

It's quite likely they travel off the island occasionally, in fact, I'd put money on it wink
