Wow.......will be doing something similar ourselves, in a split screen bus from Montevideo to Santa Marta, Colombia. Much shorter trip, only about 8000KM. Looks like you took a similar trip, but from Cartagena, no?

My biggest worry is shipping the bus. We'll be sending it from Spain, probably Cádiz. Who did you use?

We did something similar, except we shipped around the Darien Gap to Cartagena, then took quite a detour on the way to Montevideo, by taking in Tierra del Fuego - here's the rough route, recorded by our satellite tracker:

For shipping between Europe and Montevideo, we used IVSS to arrange Ro-Ro transportation with Grimaldi Lines. The route is a well-worn one, with sailings every ten days or so.

If you'd rather use a container so you don't have to ship empty, I'm sure they can arrange that too...

You can pick up a serviceable-but-scruffy Renault 4 in Colombia from about $1500... paperwork isn't too bad when you buy there too... ;-)

Just brilliant, congratulations. You must have had some pretty astonished responses to the Chimera in some of those countries. There can only be a handful in the Americas at all/

Yep, there sure are - we have a publisher interested and should be making an announcement over on our Facebook page very soon...
