Sport-utility (vehicle) - SUV or sport-ute is an automotive classification, typically a kind of station wagon / estate car with off-road vehicle features like raised ground clearance and ruggedness, and available four-wheel drive.

A Ferrari FF doesn't quite fulfil those requirements!
Which of those does it not fulfill..???
Or do you want to remind yourself of their home~page video..with the car drifting in the snow.
I also seem to remember the ski-hatch in the rear seats of the original FF..
It may not resemble your stereotypical viewpoint but there is no doubt that Ferrari have designed a vehicle to appeal to a certain type of buyer..
IE one with a bit of kit to lug around with passengers.
I've seen it all now someone on a car based forum arguing a Ferrari FF is an SUV.
Let’s just call it a front engined, stretched hatchback with 4 seats, 4wd, clever load carrying capabilities, huge amounts of torque and grip then shall we...
Deal...just not an SUV smile

I’d say the FF’s classification is more estate than SUV, but it’s an interesting thought about the FF being the basis of a jacked up ‘classic’ SUV at some point.

He’s obviously just saying it to trigger a debate or thought process. In terms of the three words Sport, Utility and Vehicle then you can see the kernel of the viewpoint. However, in doing so you are completely forgetting what a GT car is actually all about. Ie taking you to your sporting event with whatever equipment you will need.

The FF is obviously a form of GT rather than an SUV which the majority would readily agree entails excess ground clearance as the core design feature that separates the niche out from hatchbacks, estates, shooting brakes or GTs.

Whether Ferrari could use the FF chassis to create an SUV would be a question worth asking.

In the ideal world Ferrari will create their SUV from scratch and also go and win the ParisDakar with it. Or they could just take a Jeep and glue some bits to the interior and a few Ferrari badges. I just can’t believe Ferrari would stoop so low as to piggyback off a partner’s boggo utility SUV. I certainly don’t want to believe they would.

It’s hard to know as Ferrari has a 70% public holding and Exor only holds 20% now. Exor also owns 30% of FiatChysler and controls more so I guess the Agnelli’s could push for a Ferrari to be built from a Jeep or a Fiat but can we honestly imagine a world where this happened? They may have form for sticking a prancing horse on everything from sunglasses to buttplugs but have they ever done anything like that with their cars?

I wouldn’t say I was awake. More likely that I have the same obtuse way of thinking as you? wink

Why has no one pointed out the glaring error in the article?! This is their SECOND attempt. LM002 was their first attempt

The LM002 is mentioned in the article, but Lamborghini just choose to ignore the existence of it.

I always thought the LM002 was brutally elegant/purposeful, only ever seen a couple of them in 30 years.

How many cars (ex the Urus) have Lamborghini built in its entire history?

The PH article on the Espada points out that Lambo will sell as many Urus in 4 months than they sold of the Espada in a decade (1200).

Made me ponder what % of all Lambo models on the road in 5 years time will be SUVs?

All the big old supercar manufacturers make a heap more now than ever before, Porsche, Ferrari, lambo all used to make a handful of cars a week.

This is a mass produced car with a lambo badge glued to the front.
