It get real interesting when you make a car with the same purpose as the bike. Like say a Formula3 car
An F3 car has the same purpose as a GSXR?

Extraordinary.

I mean it’s likely an old fart like av185 in his 911 but shows how easy it is to walk away from cars with a decade old super bike.
Just watched roads were too busy for those kinda speeds imo but neither car nor bike were near limits of grip so not sure what it shows

Would like to see a vid of a good driver and good rider pushibg on through some quiet twisties

It’s due to the cloud from the rain preventing the helicopter from taking off, which means from a safety perspective it can’t be run. Obviously that fact shouldn’t alter your view though.

The track was purely an example as I only ride for fun, so rareljy go out in the rain, I use my car then. However, when I used to commute on a bike it was much better in the rain as traffic simply ground to a halt due to incompetent drivers.

I mentioned earlier about a lad in his 600bhp GTR on his local roads who was clearly out for a hoon in the damp getting a schooling by me on the coast road, a road I’d only ridden once before and that was 12 months earlier.

Did I mention I’ve got a car as well?
Nope, not always.

Races have been cancelled or abandoned part way through due to showers - nothing to do with the helicopters. The track is deemed too dangerous.

Nobody is saying bikes aren't fast. They're just not that fast in certain areas/ conditions but they will out-accelerate cars.

It’s usually down to inconsistent levels of grip as parts of the island will be dry whilst others aren’t. This means you cannot use wet tyres because they will overheat and slicks will be a liability. Given the consequences if somebody crashes, it would be irresponsible to run a race in those conditions.

The main issue here is the bar for most car drivers is pretty low as they’ve only ever experienced cars that are padestrian by modern superbike standards. Even when presented with factual evidence to the contrary they still cannot accept it because they’ve only ever compared their slow cars to even slower ones.

Thanks for posting.

What does it prove? That a fast bike will out accelerate a fast car? We already knew that!

That biker is so close to the Porsche as not to leave much of a margin for error. Don't rate his survival chances if he carrys on riding like that.

Also Porsche GT cars are not designed for out and out drag racing performance.

Enjoyed watching anyways

If it was a boggo GTR it would have the following, earlier one's a little less. Nismo has 600 on the nose. Maybe he'd filled it up with shell optimax for the extra powerz...

2015 545hp
2016 545hp
2017 565hp
2018 565hp

Colour me impressed. £82,000 mind. Can get 6 S1000 RRs for that, almost one for every day of the week.

(and they'll be faster, especially if you tie them all together and pull a chariot)

biggrin

How do you know he was local?

How do you know he was ‘clearly out for a hoon’?

Maybe he had just passed his test.

Maybe he had 9 points on his licence and wasn’t prepared to speed.

Maybe he didn’t want to goad a biker into killing himself.

Maybe he was lost.

Maybe he was a bit more mature and sensible than you.
1. I googled it and posted the spec from the guy who was selling it two years ago
2. Because he told me when we stopped and had a chat
3. See above, but also as he was goading me in the 30 Limits
4. See point 2
5. See point 2
6. See point 3. I’m also more than capable of deciding my own comfort level
7-9 see point 2

Yep proves nothing apart from the old GT3 RS actually beating the chump on a bike in the final few seconds of the clip.

True to form our resident Polo driving fantasist troll 'Gramps' Yonex has just shot himself in the foot yet again.

Please see the link below;

1200hp of Veyron Vitesse vs an S1000RR in a straight line. Pretty conclusive.
Wow, that’s pretty amazing! There can’t be many cars as fast in a straight line as a Veyron so that really shows how quickly a litre bike accelerates...
The funniest part is the bloke in the car is full of bravado at the start when he thinks the Bugatti’s faster. By the second run and losing twice they start discussing the quality of materials used on the dash.

Here’s another one this time against a 1200ho Nissan GTR. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ6CxA3R5u0

Except you’re all talk. You’ve not answered his question about race licence. You’ve not replied to the challenge made by one of the Porsche aficionados about doing a karting day. You’ve never taken me up on the offer to meet at Hawes for coffee to discuss your amazing cars in depth and have a look round one of them, as well as maybe have a run to Settle.

Meantime back on the subject.

Tommy Davies recently did John o Groats to Lands End in a standard S5 Audi taking just 9 hours 36 minutes.

1984 bike record evidently still stands at 11 hours 14 minutes.

Bike takes 1 hour 38 minutes longer than car shocker.

Fine, run it again with 1 person in the car. In the interest of balance, of course.

Yes I’m sure that would make all the difference as demonstrated in the video above of the GTR. 1200hp, lighter than the Veyron and driver only.....still loses though. biggrin

I did call custard and you provided some photos with custard of two Porsche’s, but not all,of the ones you have in your garage and a Ferrari that you’ve never mentioned before or after.

I’m calling custard on your ability to drive fast too, as are others on here.

Now it’s clear you’re just trolling and pretty poor at it too.

More time now it’s half term?

Cars and bikes can be closer than you think - the car will be faster in some places, the bike in others.

It's an extreme example, but:

You’ve got to be stting us? A two year old article on something that’s been discussed to death already.

What’s the point of the post?

Quite possibly but the figures speak for themselves despite you clearly refusing to accept the outcome.
