The article is pretty poor in some respects, how could the author not read 480lb/ft of torque from a 5.0 n/a engine and think "that's clearly impossible!!"
Ferrari's best offering has 83 lb-ft / litre, this would be 96 !!
Valid point, though we can only go with figures supplied as we don't have the means to independently verify them. It does sound optimistic when you put it like that...Ferrari's best offering has 83 lb-ft / litre, this would be 96 !!
Matt
This is really just a promotional article for Steeda.
I personally had never heard of them and I'd imagine there are other manufacturers that claim to be the largest manufacturer of tuning parts for the XYZ.
Still really like the look of the Mustang. There is a local guy with one that I see occasionally. His has aftermarket pipes and it sounds awesome

I had a Mustang about 5 years ago in the Middle East and Steeda was probably the most prominent tuning part manufacturer used by people adding to their own cars there. That's probably because if you go on most Yank Mustang forums Steeda parts are recommended an awful lot. Their claim is therefore not a surprise to me. bakerstreet said:

Heres a pic of the front of the main factory in Georgia:I personally had never heard of them and I'd imagine there are other manufacturers that claim to be the largest manufacturer of tuning parts for the XYZ.

Then they have a HQ down in Florida, and an SSV building facility in Detroit.
If you want to read more about the history and achievements of the company, the history and milestones page on the Steeda UK website "About Us" page gives a good little taster: (not sure if allowed to post a link to it?)

"What is it, a sort of Mustang?"
"It's an Enforcer"
"Enforcer?!"
"Yeah, er. Enforcer"
"Don't you work in IT?"
"I do. Server migrations, mainly, although some IT support, too"
"You're not a Mafia henchman or something, then. I mean... Enforcer"
"It's a Ford Mustang"
"It is, isn't it"
"Who's is that L200 outside, the Warrior?"
"Oh, thats Mike's"
"Which one is he"
"Him over there, little round chap that works in Accounts"
I think Ian drives the warrior. Mike is hardcore. He has the Mustang Cobra Terminator."Thanks, I do, too"

I hope its an automatic.
But on a serious note, isn't that what Mustangs and cars like that are for. To bring some enjoyment and escapism to most peoples lives, who are more often accountants and programmers and retailers etc, not erotic dancers in Cairo? That's what the whole "spirit of mustang thing" about personalisation and freedom is about, giving licence to expression and fun, in a too often dull world. And boy are Golf's dull.
