Chimaera owners rejoice! We’ve finally found some wing mirrors!
Wing mirrors hehe That would look a fright!
Thinking the same. I need a driver full assembly for my Chimeara.

I had 4 CX’s, an amazing Car. My last one I bought at 180k, and sold (I kid you not) at 415K miles.....by which time everything had stopped working electrically, but still ran, had all of its fears & never had suspension issues on any of them. The big miler was a Mk1 Turbo Diesel, although my favourite was the 2.4 Auto. All of mine were either Safari or Famille......all of this was about 20 years ago.

Quite an amazing collection. I still have a soft spot for CXs although it is many years since I had one.

There is a mechanical honesty to them and I would bet that many of the scrappy ones could still run.

I never got to 400k in any of mine but a couple touched on 200k with very few issues. The OHV petrols would run and run.

I'd not feel comfortable camping in a car in which I knew a fair number of people died.
Talking of death I think it looks like a hearse. It’s the only one in the entire collection I would crush.

415,000 miles!

But being a diesel, that's not too unimaginable. Still, the metallurgy (in particular, regarding the turbocharger) 20 years ago was not what it is today. I would have enjoyed a look at that car. It's astonishing that suspension bushings did not need replacement.

Tempting-have great memories of driving across Iberia in a GT auto-Ser 2. Lovely to waft in, even now.

There's a guy here in St Pauls, Bristol, with a front garden full of VERY rusty CXs.....

Borrowed my boss’s CX25TRD Familiale for a week to go to a mate’s wedding. Served as the wedding car and the minibus to ferry guests from the reception. Amazing drive with zero travel brake “button” and high geared self centring steering. Felt like space travel even compared to the BX I had at the time. Stunning long distance car.
Also saw the coolest looking black Prestige parked next to Adnan Khashogi’s yacht “Nabila”in Monaco 1982. So much more chic than all the Rollers and Mercs swarming around the other floating gin palaces.
