2010 Porsche GT3 (USA, so no cage):

Even this thing is so blisteringly quick... I dunno why anyone would need anything more powerful on a daily road...

On that basis, I don't know why anyone would need anything more powerful than say a Clio 200 for the road.

Missed the old discussion on that a GT3 RS is not a race car. Point was that all the 'styling' is functional and makes it faster ON TRACK. Where it can be used straight out of the box and is faster than many a 'supercar'. That makes it a proverbial racecar, one for the road that is. Contrary to many a overstyled sporty car for sale today with fake vents etc. And tupperwear corsas with a 1.7 diesel.

Oh well.

There was good earlier discussion. I know the RS is not a cup car, not is intended to be. For someone of my normal track driving skills, the 991RS is a very impressive car on a track and is quite practical as a road car. The appearance is of course a purely subjective call, and I have no quarrel with those who find it ugly. I like it. Further, I know it is for function so it seems normal to me. It is bloody quick on a track.

Relative to the 997RS the 991 is a much easier car for normal day to day in traffic. Overall, if you look at the modern RS era, I would say the 996RS is the most fun track car (and the rarest) and the worst road car. The 7.2RS is about the best compromise ( no experience with the 4.0 so cannot comment).
