Looks brilliant from the side and the front.

The back just ruins it for me.

If it had the new Elise back-end rather than the Exige it would be perfect IMO.

Lotus need new cars.

Hopefully the Geely takeover will see the investment which is desperately needed.

What about the dampers, chassis, dynamics etc.? Appreciate there isn't the nice smelling leather you find in something Italian though.

Even as the dedicated Lotus fan I am, this caused an eye roll of epic proportions when I saw it.

What about the engine (ex-Toyota saloon car), the bodywork (mostly from a £25K Elise) and the interior (ditto) ?

I'll take the old Sport 350 twin rear light set up and the extra 300g or so of weight penalty any day.

god, they desperately need a new platform .... i wish them well but i think JMG is going to hit the wall on UK sales on this ticket price for exige and evora.
Loads of life in the Exige still as far as I'm concerned, it's a real event to drive, it still looks great, the performance is frankly absurd and there's genuinely little if anything to touch it, so keep going for now Lotus. But then maybe I'm a little biased..

I know, sad isn't it? Particularly for so called driving enthusiasts.

I think you can still be a driving enthusiast yet want a well finished and designed product.

At £90k plenty of options available, to suit all tastes. The point is that Lotus are selling into a very limited market compared to say Porsche.

oh is that it
Those two tiny lights save 300g gram over the standard elise ones which give you two reversing lights and two fog lights
Less is less but more

Just when you think they cannot squeeze anymore out of the current range, they do it again.
Looks pretty nice and a sub niche of a sub noceh, why not.

Find this a weird thing to pick on, have basically the same engine in my Evora 400 and its got a lovely linear power delivery, fantastic throttle response, makes a great noise and can return 30mpg+ on a cruise.

Ok, the 30mpg bit isn't that amazing, but its a damn-sight better than the V8 Vantage 4.7 my dad had which could just about manage 24mpg on a long motorway run...

But, but, but...it isn't an Aston so it must be crap. And you mean you spent all that money and didn't think of all the Italian cow hide and fancy sat nav you could have had instead? More fool you...;)

Exactly - a market that probably cares little for such rubbish. The average Porsche man won't get the Exige.

Its time they sorted that
For whats supposed to be a light weight car, cruising mpg should be closer to 50mpg these days
What are they doing wrong?

Using a 400bhp supercharged 3.5 litre V6 instead of a small turbocharged petrol or a diesel? I mean, really, what are you comparing it to?
