Well the rear lights are off a Sierra... maybe that's where the value lies?
A fair point! They should dirty it up a bit and then list it as "Barnfind, rare original Sierra taillights" for twice the money I'd love to have something interesting like this, or say an Alpine GTA or A610. I like something a little unknown, although I imagine the Venturi Owner's Club events are a bit quiet
There was an MVS Venturi up for grabs at Historics recently (well, feels recent – turns out it was last year). Went for £15,680 inc. fees. Good thing I wasn't there, as that would have been quite the temptation (well, if I had the money)...

Both bought and sold for about 1/2 what is sought now. I added about 25 K miles to it. It had a little over 40 K when I sold it (via Oselli)
They are great but the cable gear linkage can be troublesome as it is fairly exposed and needs to be kept lubricated / protected, especially is used all year round. In terms of driving, the most annoying aspect is the chatter from the anti-roll bar bushes, both front and rear especially on a rough road. I think this could be fixed with a retrofit of sone sort. The only other weak link is the cabin heater control valve valve which controls temperature in a binary way by continually opening and closing a valve which eventually wears out resulting in a puddle in the footwell.
All relatively trivial. The car is taught, stiff and well built and goes nicely. Everybody loves it and nobody knows what it is!

the LM400 looked amazing and there was a Top gear episode with Tiff driving one. Also I recal one in a gulf livery was on one of the first gumball rallys broke down oner had to leave it in a barn.
Finally Gran Tourismo 2 had this car and a car called the LM600 (not sure it was real but assume it was) was my fave car in the game an always wished I could afford a real one. There is a gap in the market I think for an esprit type car. Cayman Alpine etc are just not as cool looking as this sort of 90s shaped wedge.

This 400GT has been for sale a few times: I remember it being one of the ads on test in a classic car magazine. They reckoned it was the nearest thing you could get to flying a fighter jet. It was also only up for about 25K back then...Lance Robinson said:
Great to see as that very item used to be my car. Believe it or not but I used it as a daily driver in the early 2000s. It also had a bit part in a feature on Top Gear during my tenure too. I sold it in 2003 for a fair bit less than being asked for now!
Hello Lance...and I thought it was a GTA you had in green? I forgot about the Venturi...fab motorGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
